Air Raid is lacking....

...2 TE sets and misdirection plays. Counters, reverses, play-action, deception and power plays still work at the highest level, ask the NFL. It's called sending the defense one way and throwing or running the other way. It's not complicated. It's not molecular engineering. Suck the defense in and then throw over the top into single coverage.
This version of the Air-Raid by design has eliminated any kind of misdirection plays and EFFECTIVE play-action. The results against good defenses has become very predictable...We live or die with QB play whereas Bama and LSU rely on RB play and physical line play for success.

We don't run the air raid anymore, haven't in about two years.
The problem is Sumlin isn't an offensive guru like some mistakenly think. He doesn't have a "system" and has never been the primary playcaller for an air raid offense, or ANY spread offense. His offenses here and at UH are determined by his coordinators, and thus look drastically different across the years.
Right now we run no air raid concepts. None. Our offense is as different from the air raid as it is the triple option.

Never thought I'd miss KK so much

What Roger said, we have no offensive identity. None

Whatever the hell you wanna call what we're running with 4 or 5 WR's isn't working...We're too QB dependent anyway, like some TXHS football team. A bad day from the QB always equals disaster...I realize OL play and injuries at RB have some in to play this yr but wow. My gf (a huge Bama fan) even commented on how we run the same zone read running play EVERY single time...

Yeah, we don't even close to air raid.

The little zone read PA fake (or whatever you call it) is so perfunctory that we do it half heartedly on obvious passing downs

Lmao I saw this against ASU on a 3rd and long backed up near our own end zone and I lost it lol guess I'm used to it now but yeah it makes as much sense then as it does now, none.

It infuriates me for some reason.
We even did it on 3rd and long and the RB didn't even try to sell a fake. Allen shifted the ball at him anyways but it's just so stupid
