For coaches wanting to retire.
I could see Dantonio going there for that reason... to finish his career at his Alma Mater.

South Carolina needs an innovator, not a plodder.

Comes to South Carolina in your upper 50s..... leave in your 70s..... that's their M.O.
Dantonio is one of the few coaches that fits that mold.

So Carolina is to old coaches what Florida is to old people from the Northeast.
I like it.

That would be scary. With the recruiting pipeline USCe has, that program would be absolutely dangerous with Pinkel at the helm.

Did you go to bed last night, thought of this zinger, and just couldn't wait to post it?
I bet that's what happened.

I disagree, Spurrier's best teams were as tough and physical as anyone. He wasn't fun'n'gun with his best teams at SC. It was old school smash mouth.

and that really won them a lot of titles...

3 straight top ten teams for a school with the history of USC is quite an accomplishment.

The truth hurts for ya, doesn't it?

Or they can steal someone out of retirement like they did with Holtz. Mack Brown?

The promising thing for SC is that Spurrier had three 11 win seasons with a laid back approach to coaching. He never hit the recruiting trail hard, didn't micromanage like Saban etc. The lucrative money involved with the SEC means if the right hire is made, SC can have great success unlike 15 years ago..

Agree completely, they need to start a spending war instate, Clemson can't afford to keep up, plus they have Dabo.

their money advantage has never really payed off given Clemson has dominated the rivalry over the decades. money doesn't buy championships or help you recruit and you only need so much money to have nice facilities to entice the athletes.
