How else do you go from 172 lbs to 215 lbs in such a short period of time?
You mean over two and a half years? The 172 was his weight in the fall of his Junior year of High School, 203 was his weight this August- you don't see anyway someone could go from 172 to 206, over the course of 30+ months as they aged from 17 to 19?

Someone asked about other schools having players lost for a year.
I know Bama lost at least one player to banned substances. During the Saban era.

Amanda Wood, currently working for Scout, about Grier buying a supplement at a Complete Nutrition in Gainesville this summer.
That tells us nothing we didn't already know. I'm appalled by your willingness to overlook the fact that UF and Will Grier refuse to disclose what Grier ingested.
I'm also appalled by your blind faith that the University knew nothing about Grier's test results before Sunday. That is fricking laughable, sir, laughable.

I'm not mad that Grier got suspended. He got caught cheating. I think the punishment for it is ridiculous. Especially if it's something readily available over the counter.
The suspension for this is an entire year, but the suspension for doing illegal drugs is only one game? That seems twisted to me. His suspension should run through this season and he should be allowed to play at the start of next year.
I agree with this.

That being said, it is drilled into every student athlete not to take anything, even cold medicines, without Team trainer clearance. I'm sad the kid is getting hit so hard......but claiming ignorance just doesn't work.
It is drilled into their heads non-stop from the moment they enter the program. He was educated and therefore ignorance is no excuse.

Ligandrol isn't over the counter. It's listed as "not for human consumption."
UF officially denied the drug was Ligandrol, so give that a rest. It was misinformation.

The 172 was his weight in the fall of his Junior year of High School,
He weighed 181 his senior year, when he enrolled in UF. 20 months later (January of 2014 to August of 2015, he is listed at 201. He is reportedly much heavier than that according to rumors at training camp at 215.
Is that accurate enough for you? So in 20 months, he put on somewhere between 20 and 34 pounds.
Anyone who believes this poor kid accidentally popped a pill the week of his random test believes a lot of things that aren't true.

The reporter stated what he purchased from the Gainesville store. The fact is UF officially denied it was Ligandrol. And while it is true it has not been officially released, the best we know is Amanda Wood a scout reporter looked into what he purchased at Complete Nutrition.
He didn't get the confirmation test until Sunday, so staph.
I'm not a sir btw.

The reporter is getting chewed up by Florida people. Probably because the L3 stuff says on the packaging "DO NOT TAKE IF YOU ARE TESTED FOR DOPING."
Posted on 10/13/15 at 3:02 pm to the808bass
Grier was a moron for sure. But one look at him and you can know he isn't on roids.

The NCAA made the suspension effective after the game. The team almost certainly knew about it before they played. I don't have a problem with that in the abstract.
There's no non-hospital testing labs sending out emails on Sunday and they're not running tests on Sunday for PEDs.

Sort of reminds me of the old SNL bit "Amazing Colossal President," regarding the possibility of radioactive mutation during Jimmy Carter's visit to Three Mile Island, Pennsylvania after the nuclear accident.
Al Franken, who wrote the bit, summed it up thusly:
quote:
"Is it true the President is over a hundred feet tall," asks a reporter of the spokesman at the nuclear plant.
"No, absolutely not! That is untrue!" the spokesman says, indignantly.
"Is it true the President is over ninety feet tall?"
It didn't take a genius to figure out that the Amazing Colossal President was between ninety and a hundred feet tall.
I figure if reporters keep throwing chemicals at UF during press conferences, they'll eventually fail to deny one.
Or, people could just start throwing bricks at everything in the city of Gainesville.
