All that shite happened under a different HC and a different AD. There's no reason they would penalize the current administration.

Tell that to Dennis Franchione and Mal Moore who were at Bama when penalties from the Mike DuBose/Bob Bockrath days were handed down.

Oh, If it were really just this simple. uh-uh. We got HAMMERED in early 2002 for transgressions in 98 and 99. Almost 2 full years after DuBose and staff had been gone.
The institution gets punished, not the coach. Remember who was coaching SC when they got hammered? Not Pete Carroll who had committed the violations but Kiffin instead. Coach Fran left for A&M after the penalties were announced and I didn't blame him.

As far as penalties go they used to take people off TV and this had no effect. Now its vacate wins (even a more useless penalty than banning TV) AND the biggest one schollie reductions. The schollie reductions are the killer and I'm not talking about 4 or 5. When they take 27-30 like they did us. You can't find anybody to sign because kids know you arent gonna be strong enough to go bowling, and great players dont want to play for losers. Every game is a fight no matter who you play.

There are stages of probation
Investigation-Scares off kids because you dont know what the penalties will be. Like Cowherd said, your penalties are waiting to see what the penalties are.

Actual probation- schollie reduction not only limits what you can sign but also scares off kids who know you won't be very good during this time.

Recovery-Once probation is over it takes about 5 years to get back to full roster that also has EXPERIENCE. Big key
I'll give you this timeline on Bama since most of you weren't alive during early 2000's or didnt care enough to know what was going on.

2000-Investigation started
2002-Penalties announced
2005-First season we could actually sign 25 again
2008-Last season we played without a full 85 with experience

Know what our record was between 2000 and 2007?
53-46 with losses in Indy and Music city bowls to the likes of Minnesota, Okie state,

Know what it has been since we got back to full strength? 2009-present?
78-10 with 3 national championships

You better hope you are clean but if not you are in for some loooong seasons. If it affected Bama that much whats it gonna do to Ole Miss?
