Saban won't be strange to me. His tenure will be legendary but it feels like he hasn't been at Bama that long (yes, I'm old). Miles feels like an institution at LSU. It will be weird to see him go.

I honestly dread the day Miles leaves. He IS LSU . The guy bleeds P&G and we've been nothing but successful with him. He's all I've really known, and kind of grows on you.

Same here. Saban didn't get to Bama until my sophomore year in college.

That's because he's like a hired gun, he always remains aloof and never really gets attached to a program.

I actually agree with you. It doesn't seem like Saban has been there as long as he has but I wonder if that's because Bama went through too many coaches to keep up with before Saban finally settled in (sort of like we have lately). Miles, OTOH, does feel like he's been there forever.
That said, I can't wait to use Bear's words about Neyland's retirement when Saban finally goes. "Thank God, the old bastard finally quit!"
