Update: Griffin 4 catches for 41 yards and a touchdown
For those that might be interested. He's #80 if you can't find the giant on the field.
I can't remember what his situation is exactly, but is there any chance he transfers after this year? Surely he'd be eligible assuming he makes the grades right?
Also, is this his first year of eligibility?

Well he's eligible now. He's playing. And this is his second year at the school I believe (but first year playing?). I'm still not sure why he wasn't eligible after last year, I believe he held a qualifying gpa.

Texas State has the same NCAA minimum academic requirements for scholarship athletes that A&M does. If he can play at TSU, he can play at A&M. The issue is the A&M admission office, which can and does enforce different requirements involving which classes count and how many hours are transferable.mGenerally speaking though this is only an issue when transferring from a junior college.
TLDR: Griffin is very likely eligible to enrol here next year if we want him.

It's sad that as bad as Texas State is academically, there are schools out there that are a still a bigger joke. TSU (Southern, the original one) is filled with corruption and scandals pop up very often so it's no surprise Griffin has stayed eligible.
