Let me know how the that Yeti works out. I like their espresso oak Yeti buy I've never ventured into the chocolate oak.
Also, have you had any of Straight to Ale's stouts? I've read they're delicious

Thanks for this timely update. Do you mind if I print this out in an 8 x 10 glossy that is suitable for framing?

I've only had the Lily Flag and it was pretty decent. Definitely worth a shot if you like sweet stouts.
I may or may not have had a Russian Imperial from them at a beer festival... I was really drunk, but remember drinking an Alabama RIS that was really good...

I live in HSV....Straight to Ale is garbage compared to Blue Pants Brewery and Rocket Republic.
Blue Pants has the best stouts in town and some of the best I have ever had.
Straight to Ale was one of the first so they are the most well known but to be honest I have never thought their beer was that great, especially not compared to some of the others in town that have now opened.

I read about the STA stouts on the interwebs on a list.
Concerning Blue Pants - I first had their beer before Weedy went to Chicago for a legit brewing program and it was good but it was probably average at best. Since then I truly believe that his beers are world class and I've said on here before that if his brewery was in Vermont then people would fall over themselves to get their hands on it. I was happy to see their brewery come home with an award from the GABF this week

I haven't dove into Blue Pants much at all since making arriving in Alabama. What should I look for?

We have some pretty good breweries here in Huntsville. I'd love to see a few more sours.

Blue Pants...any of the stouts. They rotate them, but my favorite is the Candy Bar Pinstripe. They released bombers this summer and most places sold out the same day.
Rocket Republic....hands down the Vapor Trail Cream Ale. Its won awards. Also has the best taproom/atmosphere IMO.
Both of those breweries IMO are so much better than Straight to Ale. STA gets a lot of accolades and recognition because they were ones that helped lead the way to freeing hops and getting the brewery movement going. But to me their beer and their taproom falls short. They will be moving to the new development at the old Stone Middle school, Campus 805, along with Yellowhammer. www.campus805.com
Another one coming to the area is Old Black Bear...they have been around but their beer has been brewed in Gadsden. They have taken over the Bandito Burrito space in downtown Madison and will have a brewery/taproom/restaurant.
Also check out the food trucks. There are some great ones and usually there is at least one at the breweries on weekends and thru the week. Fire and Spice is one of my favorites.

Hopbursted IPA is legit. I liked their Amber as well. Thier pinstripe stouts are legit

I just found a Bike Chain Sour-Dishwater IPA, I've been looking forever. I also picked up a Dill hole Hazelnut-Pumpkin Porter Coffee Douche-water Stout that I'm fond of.
