Serious question...what exactly can Ricker be doing wrong to screw up the OL? I mean this OL wore Arkansas down and punished them last year. This year they look lost, any observations?

I don't know what Ricker is doing, but he's horrible.

I don't believe we have 18 OLine guys on scholarship and they all suck. It's on Ricker.

weirdly enough he seems to have improved the Oline at his other jobs.

at times tonight the Oline held the pocket up pretty darn well, and only a few times they actually seemed to run block some. Also each of the last two years you've taken an NFL player away from it, and it isn't clear if that talent is being replaced. From the looks of it you have to wonder.

There are too many OL upper classmen to play this way. In this order...Ricker, Henson and Pinkel are totally responsible for the poor line play.

I thought the OL would be one of our strengths this year because of the experience. What do I frickin' know??!?!?!?!?!

If the 2015 OL is like this, 2016 will be a "pure joy". Swiss cheese with that forward pass please.

Is he teaching a different blocking scheme, is that the reason the whole line seems confused? There is no push up front, this from an experienced line that did it very well last year.

I wonder if this yearly reshuffling is causing some of the problem?

Purposely taking a great guard and turning him into an average tackle seems counterproductive.

They are different positions, so you're asking 3/5ths (or whatever) of your line to learn new positions with different footwork requirements and blocking responsibilities. They all lack experience at their new positions and the confidence in what the man to either side of them is going to do.

I could easily see why our OL might look like warm shite under these circumstances.

Great points and what I was thinking. Take McGovern last year they played around with him as the RT, he was not doing as well as at guard so they moved him back and the OL got immediately better. Playing guys out of position is a sure way to frick things up. Also really got to question trying to start Abelen the guy has looked horrid.

The reshuffling is 75% of the problem. The other 25% is our center can barely move because of an ankle injury. Boehm looks terrible.

Shame. He's a lot better than what he looks like out there.

Missing Bruce Walker, the guy was a tremendously underrated coach

We're trying to play guards at the tackle spots too, and its making the whole line bad. Where's Cuellar? He doesn't have a RS year and was a top rated OT from JUCO, but haven't seen him on the field at all. Where's Rhodes? He can't be worse than Chappell or McCovern. Are we playing them just because they're seniors? I refuse to believe that we don't have a decent OT on the roster.

We seem to run a bit like a union on offense. Not as much on defense. Not sure why.

We have rookies and underclassmen all over the field on D. On Offense, it's like you have to put in your time. Maybe that's just my perception.
