There's gotta be a funny joke there somewhere about kicking under the influence, alcohol, accuracy, Griffith, etc...but I'm drawing blanks.

Was thinking, he will sit out the ULM game (or a half).

eta - If there were any hope at all for seeing a new kicker this season though.. it's done with I think.

Keep seeing he got arrested for DUI (controlled substance) "this afternoon"..

So he was driving around smoking pot or would it have to be some more hardcore or prescription drug?

If he can't see the potential opportunity he has to contribute to the team this year, and lets this happen, I don't know what to say. That's a different kind of stupid.

If I were the kicker at Alabama, I'd probably drink, too.

A starting db is one thing, but a backup kicker? He has to be kicked off the team right? I mean we can grant a second chance to a potential starting dlineman from Georgia but a backup kicker?

I hope that post was dripping with enough sarcasm.

Being coached by Bobby Williams is enough to drive any man to drinking.

If it's a first offense DUI I think he deserves a second chance. He definitely won't be getting any jail time in that scenario, and he can probably even get "youthful offender" status. If this is a recurring problem then he needs to go.

Regardless, it's hard to imagine him doing any worse on field goals than Griffith. The fact that he's still the backup and a walk-on speaks volumes for his abilities. Doesn't change my opinion of how it should be handled though.
