Don't think Auburn or Mizzou belong that high but no real justification to drop them that much this early other than "because".
I haven't watched Mizz played, so I'm not going to comment on them.
But I have watched both Auburn games, I live in a house divided. So I watch all of them.
And while I don't really think the transitive game is a real way to judge teams, one loss to a team equals another loss t a team you don't play , ect. It's only 2 weeks and the irrelevant polls are working themselves out.
If I was on the playoff committee , I would view it as this.
Auburn had no business winning Saturday , how they played. The win win , they survived as well to a team that now has 2 losses, one of which is to a non p-5.
MSU really narrow loss in a conference game shows more than Auburns wins. I would have them higher.
UT loss in OT to a P-5 power is better than Auburns wins.
Based on just the eye test, cannot stop the zone read and a your bell cow not showing what the experts thought all Summer which why you started out ranked so high. I would have them unranked.

So you beat the team you played by thirty plus points, but because you played walkons and the third string basically the entire second half, they drop you in the polls? Makes sense.

A&M still beat ASU by 3 TD's at a neutral site and they were up 49-3 against a nobody at halftime this week. That's more than most of the ranked teams can say at this point.
The only reason A&M hasn't gotten ranking respect is questions about the D going in to the season, no one expected it to be more than a small improvement. That certainly appears to have been disproven. In the end it doesn't matter much because the SEC schedule will bear it out. With Bama, Ole Miss, LSU, and Aubie on the schedule the cream will rise one way or another. The East teams may have some concern because Georgia is the only team that looks like a legit Top 15 team in the division but whomever wins will eventually play the SECCG against the West as well.
The SEC is the only conference where really the polls at this point truly don't matter.

Almost everyone looked bad yesterday. It's no big deal.
thanks, but Mauk was even below his normally abysmal completion %, and Pinkels new "star RB" is a white walk on wearing an ankle cast.
It's bad, trust me its bad.

How does A&M drop 1 spot, all while ND goes up 3 spots?!?!?! You kidding me... The media's love for ND is nauseating... Took a 40 yd bomb as time was basically expiring to beat UVA... Get outta here
Posted on 9/14/15 at 10:45 am to Kamikaze25
the yankee-rust belt media considered that a "huge game"...
I'm glad Pinkel pissed off ND w/ his comment but now if we lose to BYU he's going to look really stupid.

I know someone's going to fight me to the death on this, but why does Clemson move up?
It was only 1 spot right?
These early season polls are completely based on hype. Clemson is a pretty hyped team this year and a lot of it is legit with D Watson returning. They have looked good in both of their games.
Of all the things to complain about, I don't think Clemson at 11 is one of them. If anything you could make a case they should be ranked higher.

It's not as 'bad' as you're making it sound. Our defense is pretty stout this year and I think they'll be our shining star of the season.
Arkansas State put up over 400 total yards of offense against USC on the road. Our defense held them to 32 in the second half.
These polls absolutely are kind of silly right now, at least until we get into the meat of the conference schedule.

A&M didn't "drop one spot", they were jumped by Oklahoma

A&M and Missouri shouldn't be ranked

My post was more geared towards ND moving up 3 spots after barely escaping UVA.

Ok then, who would be ranked in their place under your scenario?

I'm not saying we should be in the top 10, but that's a ridiculous statement. Our defense is very stout and I believe one of our players was just named SEC defensive player of the week.
If our WR's can figure out how to catch a football, I think we'll most certainly compete for the East again.

I would have a hard time not putting Michigan State number 1 right now. They looked really impressive against a really good Oregon team. Ohio State has yet to play anyone so far this season.

And still slip up and beat A&M, Arkansas, & an East team.

SEC 3rd strings and walkons shouldn't lose to Ball State 20-7.

i wouldn't be surprised if Az St wasn't a bit beat up and hungover from their game with us. The qb got hit a bunch. Their oline got whipped all night. Eventually, our constant run game took a toll on their defense.
We'll see how they do against New Mexico. If they still can't get it going on Offense, then we know they are not the same team as last year and the loss of Strong was bigger than expected.

At this point Temple and Miami are more worthy.

ASU's hangover effect. They will bounce back and have a good year.
