I'm glad he doesn't want one, but that might be all he has. Hope I'm wrong.

It's a real bad mess if several folks around Athens are to be believed, and at this point the coaches are pretty desperate to see somebody grab the job. Word is they believe this is a conference championship team at every other position. Apparently Ramsey locks onto his primary target, hasn't learned to check down, and is overthrowing receivers. Lambert is an interception machine and Bauta has limited throwing abilities. That seems to jive with the limited reports out there from practices.

My gut says Ramsey will get the job, and get the job done. If all this is true however, I'm beginning to think Faton Bauta will get the job. He knows the O better than the others, has athletic ability, and by all reports is very accurate in the short/ intermediate passing game.

I think Ramsey starts the first three games, we see QB rotations against the cupcakes and scripted series against Vandy and SC, and whatever happens after that point is anybody's guess.

From the limited live game action I've seen Ramsey in, he looks like he has all of the tools but is severely lacking confidence. If that is the case, maybe he will gain some the first few games and take off into being the big time QB most people thought he would be coming out of high school.

If the race is really as close as we are told between the three......... why not just pick a name out of a hat and go with that one?

Because wouldn't getting the majority of the snaps, and learning how to be the #1 in the remainder of the pre-season be more beneficial than whatever "push" the QB competition is providing?

Or at least cut it down to 2. THis is getting ridiculous...

Some of the recent reports I read indicated that Ramsey is starting to step it us and separate from the group some. As stated above, I think it is just confidence and maybe a lack of love for the game. Maybe when thousands of fans and multitudes of hot chicks start cheering for him, he will get it.

So, the other two inferior QBs, and their hopes and dreams of being UGA QB... are just being strung along in order to try and motivate some unmotivated ingrate?

Wow. That really gets me excited for the season.

OSU had to use 3 QBs against Bama in the playoffs this year. Murray did not finish the season two years ago and Mason did not finish the season last year. They all need to be as ready as the coaching staff can get them. I do not see the advantage of naming a starter now and taking the steam out of the other two contenders at this point. We don,t have a game this week.

I think any head coach would rather already have a starting QB at this point than to be in this situation. For a multitude of reasons.

The grim reality is that we are behind the 8 ball.

If bama wasn't "bama", they'd probably be ranked outside of the top ten. I think theirs is still a 5 man qb competition.

The more I think about it, I hope they cut one from the race in the coming weeks..........and then give the other two QBs one half each against ULM.

Two man enter. One man leave. For the starting job.

Even if they went ahead and named a starter in the preseason, he'd only play 3 quarters against ULM at the most anyway. And the back-up would get the rest.

Maybe this is all a blessing in disguise somehow. frick it.

I run 6 plays, split veer. It's like novocaine.
Just give it time, always works.

Most of the reports are conjecture. People are reporting on glimpses without seeing the whole picture. I'm not saying that there isn't an issue but people are making it seem like it's a desperate situation and we don't really know that's the case. The only people who would really know that are the coaches.

It is a desperate situation..

The heir apparent has so far been unable to win the job over a perennial third-stringer and a dude who lost the starting job at Virginia and has only been here 5 minutes.

What is more likely?...That the other two have stepped up and improved? Or that the bar has been lowered because the heir apparent has not lived up to expectations?....
