I honestly think we could go independent like Notre Dame. We have just as much power play and tradition. The tv contract would be ridiculous.
That is all true.

We also could make our own schedule and still keep Tenn and Auburn on the schedule.
That is false. If Bama left the SEC Tenn and Auburn would rightfully refuse to play you as punishment. By law Auburn would still have to, but the Tenn rivalry would be dead.
Hence why Bama never went that direction, never made a Bama Network. It values traditional rivalries more than say a Texas does.

If you really believe y'all have the TV pull of a Notre Dame, you're delusional.

I would miss your gymnastics prowess I guess.

if Alabama didnt pay its players, no one would want to play there

IF Bama left the SEC and went independent they would have to plan it out several years in advance. Scheduling games alone would be a nightmare.

The conference would celebrate the bully leaving the school yard.

I don't see UT keeping Bama on the schedule if they left the conference. Auburn and Bama could be similar to UGA/GT...but UT would probably just say Bama killed the TSIO, and leave it at that.

Seriously? That has to do with college football' popularity and where y'all were ranked and what conference you play in. Under your logic, FSU could do the same thing you're suggesting and they could not. Please Alabama, make that mistake...

It be a bigger bust than the long horn network, recruiting would take a hit, and it would take you twice as long as its taken Notre Dame to win a National Championship.

No more mobile home commercials.

You inbred idiots are so full of yourself (shite) that you are almost unbearable.
No wonder you are a laughing stock. Only school and fan base in America that can win a national championship, and still come away looking like losers.

Exactly. Which is why it would never happen.
There is a reason post-expansion the entire SEC has to accommodate a completely fricked up schedule just so that game can continue to exist. It keeps Bama in the flock.

This is a dumb thread, but Alabama absolutely trounces ND in TV viewership.

You can't be that dense. Because of Bama's recent success and Miss St hasn't had that. Do you honestly believe Alabama was in 5 of the top 10 games back in 2007? American Idol used to be get insane ratings...

I met a kid today that goes to Bama from Marblehead, Ma. I asked him how he ended up here and he said that his brother went to USCe and he was visiting him back in 2010 when we played them. He said that even though we lost he had so much fun at game that he figured that if USCe was that much fun, Bama had to be 10 time better

quote:No I don't, but Bama has historical value too dipshite. Bama has won at least one title in every decade since 1960 except one, the 80s, You do realize that don't you?
