Steele has been known to give up a lot of yards and a lot of points. That won't work in the SEC.
Did you see Bo Pelini's teams at Nebraaska? He did OK at LSU.

Woa dude, wao.
Interesting enough, Chavis and Steele gave up the same amount of yards to that WVU team. We just had some ball hawks on D......

Yeah every other team in the league can lose two starters in one unit and still trot out experience...

the fact that you don't know who some of those guys are tells me all I need to know about your level of knowledge for SEC football.

I honestly think there is a Coach O factor in there. While the DL is not glamorous on paper, the raw talent is there backed by arguably the best coach in the business.

DE: Bower (JR), Clark (SO), Key (FR)
DT: Godchaux (SO), Herron (SO), Thomas (SR)
DT: LaCouture (JR), Gilmore (SO), Johnson (SR)
DE: Neal (JR), Teuhema (SO), Patterson (S0)/Washington (FR)
D-Line depth will be fine, and better coached under O than Brick. More concerned about linebacker depth

So there's not a whole lot of experience behind the starters? Also hasn't Herron been universally labeled a bust?

correct. Talented, but not as experienced. Hopefully O can coach em up. He's one of the best in the business.

he's a sophomore

RS sophomore? From what I've read he's having trouble maybe I was imagining.

there is no way UGA only has the 6th best defense in this 14 team league.

He was on track to be a serious contributor last year. Got in trouble for the bike thing and missed the opener, then got hurt off the field. It was never officially commented on.

He's had his issues off the field. But he hasn't been labeled a bust on the field.

oh and yea he is a RS Sophomore

I agree. I think that Florida slips out because their offense will be hot garbage.

LSU will be fine on defense, but I would go with Bama or Ole MIss with the top defense.
LSU's issue is if they get good QB play or not.

All signs, so far, are pointing to Harris being the man for the opener.

When the afternoon practice ended, coach Les Miles addressed the media an confirmed that Harris was "starting first" in practice but said that "starting first isn't as important as playing dominant football".
I'm by no means saying Harris will be Jameis Winston. But he's up from 188 lbs to 206 lbs and the players have been raving over him. We'll see.

I would be ecstatic with this, but really - I would just like LSU to outscore as many of their opponents as they can....

Those three will all have a shot at the top. We need Freeze to find a consistent offense to alleviate pressure on our boys.
