It's funny how much positive press about LSU always upsets some of the peasants around here. That's how you know you run shite.

You sure are naming a lot of DBs and not many interior DL. The defense starts up the middle and LSU is deficient in that area if you ask me.

Stack the box and man up on the outsides... 8 or 9 in the box makes it tough to run

However, over on the recruiting board, all the LSU posters were saying their chances to land Rashan Gary were great because you would be running more 4-3 defenses. I wish you guys would get your talking points straight!

Most of us expect a multiple D with a 4-3 base. Should see some over, under and occasional 3-4 sets mixed in, but we don't have personnel to transition to a 3-4, nor does that appear to be the plan.

Davon Godchaux and Christian LaCouture are ballers. There are some depth issues though, i'll grant you that.

Wildly overblown. Next year it gets dicey, which is why we're in it for so many 5* DTs, but this year our depth is no worse than any other team and our first three up are probably some of the best in the league. Again, the only real concern about this defense is on the edges, the middle couldn't be more solid.

That would be the top 2 MLB in the league I referred to on page 2.

I guess I just look at Herron and Gilmore and wonder if they can be the kind of contributors we'll need. They have the physicality, and hopefully Coach O will get something out of them Brick didn't, but I think it's fair to say those two are something of a question mark.

Coach O consistently raves about them in interviews. I expect big things from both. Gilmore especially is going to shock some people. He's a run stopper in the Brockers mold, and MB didn't break out until his rSoph season after adding significant strength in the weight room.

Steele himself has said we'd be in a 4-3 most of the year and flirt with 3-4 more than in the past.

I mean ok that's good and I'm hopeful, but I think if you're being fair that's a legit ? until they consistently play to their potential.

I agree to a certain extent, but a lot of teams have to take that attitude with their incoming starters. We're talking about the 4th and 5th guy in the rotation, so I don't think it's unreasonable to at least count them as good depth. They'll be asked to spell Godchaux and Lacouture, if they break out its just icing on the cake.

DE depth chart:
Lewis Neal (who?) Tashawn Bower (I guess)
Sione Teuhema (sure) Deondre Clark (bust)
Arden Key (frosh). MJ Patterson/Isiah Washington (ok?)

DT's:
Christian LaCouture (Uhhhhh) Davon Godchaux (beast)
Quentin Thomas (lulz) Frank Herron (thief/bust)
Greg Gilmore (who the frick?) Mickey Thomas (no idea)

Yall are 1 or 2 injuries away from being the greenest DL in the league
