The biggest problem with conservatives as a whole is the insistence on their brand of moral legislation

I feel like those are highly conflicting statements that don't coexist. The left is pushing their morals that do limit free speech in the name of intolerance and equality.

Now I'm taking that from my Christian perspective, and I know that's not how you roll.

No you are right, liberals want to legislate what everyone should believe and how everyone should act way more than conservatives these days.

I am so NOT interested in ANY of these candidates on EITHER side. None of these frickers are out to do good. They only want to inflate their egos and frick us over in the process.

Vote NO OF THE ABOVE!!!.

Common man! They're both equally bad. Both ideologies want us to live a life that they deem as socially acceptable. What those social standards are depends on whether you're socially liberal or conservative. My main issue with these social issues is that both parties should stop taking stances and let their members hold their own opinion instead of standing united. For example, Ted Cruz and Mike Huckabee should have never gone in the defense of Kim Davis. It just created a stigma that all republicans should oppose Gay marriage on the count that it interferes with religious freedom. Ninja please! The circumstances of her job changed. Find another job that aligns with your beliefs. Instead they dragged this embarrassment out and beat it to death in the national spotlight.

At this point in the election, it has come to picking who will be the least sleazy of them all. My gripe here is not really to fight democrat vs Republican or conservative vs liberal. I'm just here to gripe that in the best country in the world, the best we could cough up for presidency are these clowns.

I fear sweeping limitations on the first and second amendments are not far away with a liberal SCOTUS.
Sweeping limitations such as what? SCOTUS has only very recently found an individual right in the 2nd amendment at all, and has so far only been willing to overturn the most drastic of total bans, so your bulwark against, I dunno, increased background checks or dumb assault weapons bans is state governments and Congress, not SCOTUS

With the first amendment I could see a reversal of Citizens United, which is not ideal, but also something less than "sweeping" seeing as you're looking at maybe restoring the FECA regulations that existed from 1971-2010 (I say "maybe" because this assumes Congress will reinstate them)

Just as a fact check, I don't think Cruz openly opposed of gay marriage. He supported her desire to oppose gay marriage. There's a difference.

For instance. I think it's stupid to turn down money for gay wedding stuff that gets in the news. I would take their business in a heartbeat.

But I sure as hell support the people that don't and want to use their first amendment rights to say no.

Cruz has openly and consistently opposed gay marriage since his first election. Hell he slammed Leppert in the primaries just for showing up at a pride parade.

On the one hand it's discouraging that people's memories are that short. On the other hand I guess it says something about how quickly the debate has shifted that conservatives now feel the need to bury their opposition.

I meant that after the SCOTUS ruling he said he'll respect the law of the land. I believe he and Rubio both took the stance of we don't like it, but it's the law.

Not that Huckabee full right wing crap.

I completely agree. I wouldn't vote for a single one of these candidates, on either side.

Uhhh, he introduced a Constitutional amendment to overrule Obergefell and fought through Huckabee's staff for stage time with Kim Davis

What daylight on social issues do you imagine there to be between these two?

I had to go read to make sure I wasn't crazy.

He's still opposed to gay marriage but wants it to be a state's rights issue.

I've been drinking a lot of scotch tonight. Forgive my transgressions.

This was a clown free-for-all. If this is who I think it is, then Iowa just welcomed the circus . That lady is BSC! Don't get me wrong, she has that cougar thing going for her which came a long way in getting republicans to liking her, but John McCain should have never chosen her. I was a John McCain supporter all the way until she came into the spotlight. After that, I decided to not vote. I couldn't bring myself to vote that year. In 2012, It felt more like a futile attempt to dethrone Obama with Romney so I decided to write in Kodos. It's looking like it's Kodos in 2016 once again.

The best candidates don't bother with running for President. We need a viable third party ASAP.

We have serious problems in this country when people like Trump and Palin are getting this much attention...

You do realize Bernie freaking Sanders, and Mafia o'so Clinton are getting the same amount of attention.

Good thing is, Hillary is about to be indicted, so she won't be running soon.

Hillary will be the next president. Nothing is going to stop that train. All the discussion of actual issues and potential misdoings pales in comparison to the amount of voters who will vote for Hillary because A. the country did really well when Bill was president or B. want to be "part of history" by voting for the first female President. That's it. The average voter is a moron.
