Yea, you have the mountains sure.... but you don't have the culture, history, art, etc. that Athens has.

you skipped over the big ol lake.
all kind of history in Clemson, starting with Dr. Clemson and his father in law Calhoun, a big name in SC politics.
The entire town of Pendleton which is basically Clemson is on the national registry of historic places.
every place as a history, if its been around. it is subjective to say one places has more history or bettery history than another. obviously a uga fan has a preference for uga /Athens history.
