Their schedule looks very favorable.
The tough away games are @ Kentucky, and @ Georgia.
While I think Georgia will beat them in a h2h match, Georgia's schedule is not nearly as favorable.

It depends on how many times Mark Richt Richt's all over himself.

Probably never again, unless there's a population shift towards Big Ten country

Let me ask my magic 8-Ball.....

Never is a long time, so probably at some point, but not this year. They have lost a lot of talent off their D Line to the NFL, it catches up to you at some point in the SEC. That point is this year for them.

Mizzou's defense is going to be strong this year and there really isn't an offense that scares me in the East. UGA doesn't have a QB, Tennessee doesn't have a QB with eyebrows, Florida is a dumpster fire, Vandy and Kentucky are still building. Miss St and Arkansas are both winnable games.
I'd say Mizzou goes 10-2, wins the East because Georgia loses to Florida again

I don't think so, but we'll be back again soon.

Right now I'd give the nod to them as co-favorites. Mizzou does well at developing talent, their schedule lays out pretty well for them and their big competition is likely to be from Georgia.
As I have said before, Georgia can beat anyone, anyone, in college football and badly.
Sadly, they can also lose to just about anyone.
Right now I'd say Mizzou has the inside track. That having been said if they get some injuries they don't have the team depth some of the big powers in the conference can boast of and that would sink them.

Because of their schedule, maybe.

It's pretty sad when I actually have higher expectations that you do.
I'm not sure we can win in Athens but if UGA loses two games, which could very well happen, then Mizzou to ATL for the third year in a row!
Bookmarket.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. UF, UK, and VU are sure wins. While they're in full hype mode right now, I'm not convinced UT can be competitive every week. SC (like UT), will have a lot of good players, but they have had a lot of trouble with consistency the last 2-3 years. I think UGA is the team to beat, but for whatever reason they drop a game or two they shouldn't. Pinkel has gotten to Atlanta 2 years in a row with talent inferior to UGA, UF, and SC. Wouldn't surprise me a bit if he got there again this year.

Spot on, in fact Missouri will go winless for the next 10 years, until we're relegated to DIII. Then maybe we'll have a chance to be competitive.

Meh, not really. Check the last few drafts.
People equate recruiting rankings to talent too much. We have a beast S&C coach and second to none player development.
We have plenty of talent. Pinkel is not what I would consider an elite Xs and Os guy. He wins because he routinely makes the recruiting services look foolish.

Golly shucks guys. We're just happy to be here.

I completely agree, the best D Mizzou will have yet in the SEC is coming. No more one dimensional stop our front edge pressure and you can beat us D. We have monster talent on the front line in Augusta and TBJ, strong DE's and the best D line coach in college ball.
One of the best young DC's in the game coming back to coach his old spot, LB's, and will mix in a lot of 3-4 looks with a new backfield scheme as well. People think we lost it all because Ray and Golden are gone and Brantley is out, but this team is absolutely loaded. Our D will be the best in the division.
On offense Mauk is going to be playing with new purpose, no more college-ball Matty, it will be serious business for him from now on. We are returning 4 starting seniors up front and will have a better O-line than last years. We're going to be stacked at RB and have lot of talent at receiver too.

not sure about that, but if UGA drops 2, say 1 to Bama and 1 more they should have won, to USC,UT,UF or Aub, then we are in.
Sorry rest of the East, you are soooo fukked and you don't even know it.

I wouldn't bet on Mizzou to win the East this year.
But it wouldn't be impossible.
We would need our Dline to show up in a big way. And we need Maty to live up to his billing and a RB behind Hansbrough to provide some depth. And we need 3 receivers to prove themselves.
Other than that, piece of cake.
