Auburn developing a perception of not preparing players for the NFL

4* - 6'5, 220lb QB Jawon Pass - 4th ranked Dual Threat QB in the country - committed to Louisville over Alabama and Auburn. Most people felt that would be the case, as his brother also plays for Louisville.
When asked about his options, here's what he had to say...

It's cute to sit back and say "It's not our job to prepare you for the NFL, it's our job to win games" blah blah blah... but what happens when the inability to prepare players to be successful in the NFL starts hurting recruiting? How do you combat that, when every major D1 college recruit has a goal of eventually making it to the NFL?

The opinion of a 17 year old kid = developing a perception! I knew you weren't an Auburn homer!

That's ok, if he doesn't make it a Louisville he could always become a walmart greeter. It's not like they are going to force him to get an education.

That's a lot of effort to subtly tell us that Alabama got shafted for Louisville

I mean I don't follow Auburn recruiting but aren't they doing fine?

Pass is just saying what everyone knows to be true. His comments will likely destroy Auburn's hopes of signing a decent class for at least the next 3 years. Sorry.

Both Bama and Auburn already have highly ranked dual threat QBs committed in this class, so that wasn't anything worth discussing.

When was the last time an Alabama QB was prepared enough to win an NFL game as a starter?

Coping with what? 4x in a row #1 ranked recruiting classes? I'm confused.

Jawon Pass will not be an NFL QB. I don't care if he had Aaron Rodgers and Peyton Manning working with him.
He is a less athletic Blake Sims.

And if Petrino can convince a true dual- threat that he's got a sure path to the NFL, then kudos to him.
Also, doesn't he typically use pro-style guys anyway?

I disagree. He's raw, but he's got physical tools that Blake Sims didn't possess. 6'5, 220lbs and runs a 4.6 40 yard dash with a 4.0 GPA... We haven't had a QB with those measurables... well... ever.

4.73 at The Opening, so he is a taller, slower Blake Sims.

There is literally nothing similar about those two guys except for the fact that they're black.

They both rely more on their athleticism than their pure passing skills to get by.

Yep, but lets be honest when is the last time he was honest?
I might regret that post.

My mind is fuzzy…what player in the NFL starting as a QB did BP prepare?
