... for speaking ill of their god and describing him as a 5'5" talker who will not stfu?
Will this lead to Clowney flames eventually?
Or will Bama fans admit it is true and laugh it off?
#nb4quotingSabansRecord (against everyone except SCAR)
#nb4ButHesReally5-6 (in Walt Fraizer platforms)

Yeah, we would trade the championships to have had Clowney on the team.

Well Clowney actually made those comments in 2011. Since than Bama won 2 NCs and 2 SEC titles. Bama was good without him so I don't think any Bama fan really cares about Clowney going to USC instead of Bama anymore.

So Clowney's pass rush would not have helped you win one or two more .... that's what you're saying, amirite?
'cause I kept thinking a few times back the, jeeesh, if Bama had Clowney off the end they would be unstoppable right now.
I dunno, I may be wrong - could be remembering it wrong. I'm getting older and I have had too much to drink most of my life.

Clowney made those same comments right after he committed to South Carolina. It was even discussed on Finebaum's show at the time. If I remember correctly, Paul and most of his bammer callers got their feelings hurt by the comments

You aren't old. You just play the crotchety old man character on here because you think it's cool. You aren't the first person to do it and you won't be the last.

Of course it would've helped but it wouldn't that much. Bama still won the NCs in the 2011 and 2012 without him so didn't matter if Bama had a better pass rush those years.
Clowney in 2013 was lazy and seemed to only care about saving himself for the NFL so you can't say for sure he would've made a serious enough impact for Bama to win the NC.

Houston fans are upset that they wasted the #1 overall pick on Clowney

"I don't see no big deal like everybody else," Clowney said (via the Houston Chronicle). "They'd say, ‘He's the king of all of football.' The guy ain't nothing but 5'5. He's a short guy. Everybody's going crazy on Nick Saban.
"He talked the whole time he was there. I was dozing off. He can talk. A lot. He talked for a whole straight hour."

With the work ethic he turned out to have, I think it's probably best he went to South Carolina rather than Alabama.
It wouldn't have been a good fit. I wanted him when we were recruiting, but I think it's obvious he and Saban would have clashed. Saban has too much talent behind players to let that stuff slide. Spurrier is way more laid back.
