Every single school in the SEC is in the black. I'm not sure how other conferences stack up, but that seems pretty badass to me.

I'd love to see the numbers confined to SEC games only.

Kinda neat stat, but not very meaningful IMO.
First, the SEC schedules so many terrible OC games that a huge portion (probably like 90%) of the differential is against terrible opposition in huge blowouts.
Second, even comparisons within the SEC against each other are pretty meaningless when you consider the wide historical variance in strength of schedule. Take AU vs Bama. AU has played the toughest SEC schedule of anyone and bama has played the weakest, over the past 23 years (since 1992 expansion). That holds up going way back as AU's yearly rivals before expansions were: Bama, Tenn, Florida, and UGA. Bama was something like AU, Tenn, Vandy and MSU or something.

There was an article on al.com about it a few years ago. Go find it.

Here. Took me less than 5 seconds to find it, lol.
Vandy actually has played the hardest. AU is #2.
Bama is third easisest.
Historically, AU will be #1 I am pretty sure as we lost Tenn as our yearly rival with expansion.
Bama will remain at the bottom I am sure.

Good point. Alabama gets to play Auburn, which adds 325 to Alabama's positive point differential. Whereas Auburn has to play Alabama which takes away 325 from Auburn's point differential. It just isn't fair.

* Since 1992, Alabama has played more games against Vanderbilt (14) than Florida and Georgia combined (12). Auburn, which plays Georgia annually and used to have an annual series against Florida, has faced the Bulldogs and Gators a total of 35 times.
quote:
* Last year, Alabama and Georgia played the first SEC Championship Game in which both participants avoided the top three teams from the opposite division. The opponents for Alabama and Georgia each had a combined .375 SEC winning percentage, tied for the third-easiest schedules ever by SEC division winners.
quote:.
* Nine SEC division winners had opponents who finished with a combined SEC record of .500 or greater. That's happened only twice within the past nine years: South Carolina and Auburn, both in 2010
