I'll be damned.

Maybe the renderings were more accurate than some people in this thread thought...

Aesthetically speaking, the stadium is going to look much better next season.

The completion of the Pavilion and clearing out some older buildings north of the stadium will do wonders. I also like the fact the walk of champions is being extended to the stadium. I think I'm in the minority, but I'm looking forward to seeing the completion of the north end zone project.

Heck I'm excited to see the grass field. Seems like they've been pushing dirt around for a month now.

I agree. Cleaning up the plaza area on both sides of All American Drive will finally give the entire area a clean, big time, SEC feel. The power lines, crappy parking lot, scoreboard siding falling apart, and the metal bleachers were the view of VHS. It painted a picture that Ole Miss was not big time. This may not be the north end zone expansion we all hoped for, but it's a huge step in the right direction.

I just hope we step up our graphics and signage game with this expansion. I wish we put up more imagery (pole banners, interactive signage, etc.) that displays our history and tradition. We have so much to promote and we don't do a great job of that around the stadium itself.

With the plaza north of the stadium, we'll have a good area and opportunity to use more signage, etc. I think the Starnes Center and the plaza will actually create a nice "front door" to the stadium for now, which is what we've heard Bjork talk about since arriving.

I don't think anyone will argue with that statement. I really do want to see a facility master plan though. We can't stop here. We need to have some major renos on the table for next off-season too. My first priority would be the West side.
- Get rid of the asphalt concourse
- Remove the handrails that block traffic flow
- Update concessions (remove majority of portable carts)
- UPDATE RESTROOMS / Add restrooms
- Add brick facade that matches endzones
- Add steps between rows. (If you've ever walked up that side, you'll know what I mean.)

As for the SEZ expansion, I know it is not what I hoped for but it will be much better than what we've had and I'm glad to see us move forward. My biggest fear is that they will stop at this when so much more needs to be done just to catch up to 99% of the SEC stadiums. MSU has a master plan. We should too.

Have they started on the two new video boards?

And just for fun...

I would guess the new boards would be one of the last things they do.

This is pretty sexy

I like it too but I kind of hate that they put a lounge area in the endzone. What is going to happen during hot games is that those folks will retreat to the air conditioned lounge and leave the seats in that section 50% occupied.

Same shite is happening at the Pavilion. It looks bad on TV with all of those empty seats.

What was the logic behind moving the students to the North End Zone? Will the players now come out on that end for games? Seems a little odd to move them on that side. Loved the feel of the students rocking side to side before games next to the players.

They did it because they decided to build the field level suites in the SEZ.

I wonder what they do with all the old turf and rubber. Do you think they reuse it at high schools or something?

Think we are putting it on one of the outdoor practice fields. They are both torn the hell up right now

High schools and junior colleges in the area received some of the turf when they replaced it a few years ago.

I don't think anyone wants it.(of course someone would use it) Studies coming out that those fields cause cancer.

Ole Miss Football will give you sudden dramatic heart attacks but yet you still coach our O-line.
