Every heisman winner, ever, has put up stats on bad teams.
Using only TDs accounted for in a stat sheet is a stupid metric. This does not take into account moving the ball to the goal line, moving the chains, and keeping the other offense off of the field.
Erase from the stats either one of the two games where he broke the sec single game yardage record, and he still owns the sec season yardage record, in 2 less games. The guy lead the nation in total yardage and lead the fricking sec in rushing. He won practically every award he was eligible for, and was on everyone's all American lists. But, you know, it was just hype...as opposed to those other guys that won it playing the 85 bears 12 weeks in a row.

Come on now. Manziel was a better college QB than McCarron in 2012. AJ didn't have to do as much with Lacy, Yeldon, Cooper, and that great OL to help out. That being said, Manziel wouldn't have done well at Bama because he would to play in a structured offense rather than do whatever he wanted like he did at A&M.

Well lots of stats get put up on cupcake teams, but A&M had a higher than normal amount of them, and he still play 3/4's of the those games.

His yardage matches the same basic pattern, so not sure what the big deal is. I think the Miss St game was a game where he had good yards, but only 2 TD's.

Yes, hype.
Not saying he was a bad player in college or anything, but he was not the superman some of you try to make him out to be.

I'm just saying why I don't think he's be good at Alabama.

He had a good year, and the hype went to the max after A&M beat Alabama.
That doesn't mean hes the best player for another team or an automatic win elsewhere.

i haven't argued that on this thread, or any other. what i objected to, was your previous post:

No, Manziel was over-rated and only won the heisman due to them leaving him in long enough to get 5 and 6 TD's against crap teams like Rice "because he needed experience" combined with the hype of the Alabama game.

No, and it's not because AJ was a better QB. Saban, I believe wants a play executed like its drawn up and would have sat Johnny down when he failed to run it like it was drawn up.
That is no slight to Johnny or Saban, Johnny was a damn good QB but skill sets didn't fit Sabans offense. No slight to Saban he is one or if not the best coach in the nation, its hard to say he is wrong.
AJ with A&M = more losses and Johnny with Bama = more losses.

So you don't think he deserved those awards? Did you forget his performances versus Bama and Oklahoma? He is a much better athlete than AJ and any CFB QB that year but he can't play in a structured offense which is the only reason he wouldn't do well at Bama.

Interesting question. The styles do kind of clash, but I would still say yes because Manziel had an "it" factor that transcended scheme.

AJ performed much better.
No he didn't. Spin it as many ways as possible and it still isn't true. McCarron got the job done, but he doesn't compare to JFF. Its as simple as it gets.

5 complete quarters in a shite schedule full of fluff teams and a SEC West that was down that year.
Florida - 1 TD.
Ole Miss - 2 TDs
LSU - 0 TDs(3 INT)
Miss St - 2 TDs.
Alabama - 2 TDs.
Holy shite, you cannot be serious.
You're trying to say those were his bad games.
He passed for 311 yards @ an 83% clip then ran for another 129 vs MSU and that is supposed to be a knock against him?
He goes on the road vs the #1 team, beats them, puts up ~350 total yards with zero turnovers and that's a knock against him?
Its time to turn off the computer, walk outside of your trailer, lay down in the middle of the road, and hope a big truck comes by soon so we are all saved from your completely ridiculous utter bull shite.

if JFF was any good, he would have scored more TDS in those two games. Obviously he's a chump or the other drives wouldn't have required Christine Michael to punch it in.

That's just ignorant. AJ was perfect for what y'all ran and the results speak for themselves.
