Nope. Nothing to gain by it. We've already legitimized one other program in the state when we were "forced" to play despite what AU fans say it took an act of the state house. We didn't need Auburn. They need us. Dont believe it? Check out their season ticket sales when Bama isnt coming to JHS. We're gonna sell out no matter what. Nope, won't happen again. We play in baseball but who gives a s&^%

Does Alabama ever play Troy, South Alabama, Alabama A&M, or Jacksonville State?

It would be great for the state for Troy, UAB, and USA to play Auburn/Alabama at some point
Yes, would be good for them. Does nothing for us. Keeping the money in state is a tired argument. When UAB plays Florida that money they get works just as good in Alabama as it does in Florida. If you look around the country you will see there are other teams that don't support the one's who cant carry their weight. LSU-Tulane used to play every year. Why don't they play now. Tulane is much bigger name with much more history than UAB. Would be great for the state of LA, blah blah. I'll bet the answer falls somewhere along the lines of what I said about having nothing to gain.

It would without a doubt make the payday games more interesting for Alabama and Auburn as well. People didn't exactly get up last year to see you beat a broken Southern Miss team and FAU at home. I would know, I went to one of those games.

No, and for the same reason why won't play UAB.

I thought we should have at least one UAB thread on the SEC Rant that dealt with the SEC.
If they haven't played, why is Alabama so afraid?
Ugh, there isn't a such thing as a UAB football team. How can Alabama play a team that does not exist?

Well that is stupid. There is no reason why Alabama can't drop Chattanooga or Middle Tennessee and play one of these in state schools. It is good for the state.
Pay an in state school that money instead of some crappy out of state school.

There are only so many second tier teams we can play in one season.
On that subject, when do we play South Carolina again?
If things resemble the last time we played y'all, I'd love to play Alabama more often.

Never have, never will.
We play every D1 team in Alabama. Y'all should try it sometime. I will still to this day say UAB had the best receiver corp of any team we played last year.

So there is a difference between getting payed to have your arse kicked by an instate team vs out of state? Give me a break

Alabama pays more
They won't pay more to an in-state team.

Considering a lot of those little schools get a large part of their funds from these arse kicking games, you would think Alabama would want to get this money in state.
Just never thought that South Carolina would play more teams from Alabama in football than....Alabama.

No. Not that I'm aware. Clemson and South Carolina just like spreading the money around the state to the smaller schools.
Why not play Furman, Wofford, The Citadel, etc? Is playing UT-Chattanooga, UT-Martin, Western Carolina, etc any better? Keep the money in-state.

Eh, also don't get the travel costs really when playing in state as much.

UAB would get more money playing UGA, UF, and UT than they ever would from UA.
