When you go thru 12 coaches in 8 years or whatever the number is now, the cupboards just kinda stay bare. You might pull a few good players here and there but they never get developed due to staff turnover if they do stay.

I can't remember the last time we've fielded the full 85 and you guys are signing 34 per season. The maths...
That was because of the massive attrition. There's a reason we were a true freshmen team last season and will be relying on true freshmen again.
We can't do that now that we've made up ground. And remember, the dates in question y'all were far more talented. This will be the first season we'll even come close to matching your talent level. Of course, dat OL of yours is a bad situation for y'all, especially since we play early and have a good DL and great DE's this year.
I don't take any schadenfreude from your OL situation either. Not after last year and knowing ours will only be moderately improved if all goes well *knock on wood*.
That said, I want to win BAAAAAD.

Spurrier vacations in Destin? How trashy.

Do you even SEC meetings?

That's no excuse, I wouldn't be caught dead in Destin!

Spurrier is fricked now that Tennessee is returning to relevance. Missouri owns him. And Florida will get things turned around soon.
Oh well, he can hang his visor on Vandy and Kentucky wins until he retires.

Yall need to read the newspaper stories from when OBC signed wit Florida over ole miss. He wanted to pass the ball, and Ut said no. He's had a hardon for UT since. He's a local for th Vols. all available on the Knoxville paper archives. Florida had better golf is what his recruitment came down to.

UT didn't say no. We were still running the Wing T/Single Wing at the time he was recruited which basically turns the QB into a tailback. The irony is that given that freshmen couldn't play back then and Spurrier didn't start until 1964 as a sophomore, he'd have been able to play at UT as we switched over in 1964. Ray Graves at UF was a former Vol and a legend here who'd played under Neyland (highly likely that Spurrier grew up idolizing him as a Vol from the many stories told about him by fellow Vol fans - Graves was a legend and had that Neyland pedigree).

My story still stands. The UT coach when he was being recruited didn't want him. Who came a year or two later couldn't have mattered. He tried to get UT to see his way. They didn't.

This pretty much sums up what Steve has in store for Butch...

He's been doing that for two years now. Problem is that in his dotage he hasn't figured out that he needs to get off the bouncy workout ball if he at least intends to try.

I don't understand why you got so many downvotes for that. A down vote for Prof is a down vote for America.
Oh, and tHBC is undoubtedly tGOAT.

In all seriousness, thank you. I'm not that cool but thank you.
That said, best I can figure is young'uns don't know much about HBC, UT, and this area and just know him as retro-cool. Conversely, I might have seriously pissed folks off without realizing it. And as much heartburn as he's given us through the years there's no denying talent.

Spurrier is pumping that ball like he pumped Butch, 52-7.
