It's not like me or you personally make these decisions about when to make or not make rings for divisions. Some teams do it, some don't. No one on here has any influence over that decision.

And some teams make 11-win rings

its prob. just something for the kids

So if Tennessee does it it's fine because it's something for the kids, but if a program who came from nothing does it, it's laughable.

were technically the bowl game rings

This is what you said. Says nothing about "changing rings" or whatever

As for your above question, A division title (whether they deserve rings or not) is not the same as a simple 11 win season

That's a bowl ring, and it doesn't even look like it was sanctioned by UT.

Yours is an 11 win ring, and was very much sanctioned by USC.

What about proudly displaying the prestigious TaxSlayer title front-and-center in your football complex?

being generous, 1 out of every 10 jabs spurrier makes are actually funny, the rest of the time i just laugh at the folks who seem to think some old bastard making cranky/shitty/pissy remarks is actually funny.

hello, look around people- that's what all old bastards do- it's like a requirement for becoming a senior citizen. i'm sure you, rooster, don't have to look any further than the mirror to find yet another cranky old bastard.

Just like USC fans didn't decide to make 11 win rings.

Doesn't stop me from making fun of them, just like UT and UF get made fun of by opposing fans for various things out of their control

I mean y'all talk about how UT is supposedly so much better historically than any other SEC program (Alabama being the obvious exception) yet hand out division rings and display minor bowl trophies.

Then do something about it if it bothers you so much

Practice what you preach bitch. Face it. 7-6 is a good season for Tennessee now. Sad

We don't. Alabama doesn't either.

To me it's just weird that the last two years suddenly the press decides divisions matter but I guess they need something to talk about.

I will say that if were we to win the SECe this year, the school would prob. make a deal out of it. How much I'm not sure. And while I'm willing to grant them an exception given how long we've sucked and as a celebration of finally returning - it better be the last time that happens. I'd have a real problem if they kept doing it. Many other wouldn't even be understanding of that and would be highly pissed.

Even then, I wouldn't be happy about it but I can understand the notion that the fans deserve some happiness after being in the wilderness. BUT only once in that regard and even then I'd be happier if we made no big deal over it at all.

But blue bloods should act like they've been there. Older UT fans feel the same about that (30ish and above) but a lot of younger ones don't quite get it - they want their moment and don't have the long memory or always have the understanding of tradition.

To me and most others I know, it's title or bust but students....

Upset much? 7-6 is good progress considering where we are coming from recently. Going forward, however, that will not be enough to be satisfied.

And the fact is, with a .514 all time winning pct, 7-6 is a good season for USCe. Sad

And Steve Spurrier will never beat Tennessee again. Things always change in the SEC.

CNB, go back and look at my posts. I haven't attacked SC over this issue.
