Maybe in the NFL, but I expect Chubb to put up better numbers every year in college, save maybe YPC.

Fournette is going to be splitting time with at least 3, possibly 4, other talented backs for the next two years. I know UGA has other very talented backs as well, but Richt is better about going with his hot hand than Miles is.

that's something I just don't get. If LF is all he's cracked up to be and has all the potential in the world, why sit him on the bench? Guys like Gurley, knowshon, herschel, etc etc...those guys were the feature back not because we didn't have other talented folks behind them, but because they were good enough to where it warranted feeding them.

It's not like sony michel, keith marshall, and turman are duds either, all of those guys are good. But we know who the bellcow is and will give him the ball. I know for a damn fact Miles isn't conserving leo to save his nfl career, so that's not it. Just seems like if he was actually as good as some LSU fans think, he'd be the premier ballcarrier instead of splitting with "possibly 4" as you say other people.

Using that as an indictment of his talent is a tad ridiculous. That's Miles' MO. He tends to lean away from a feature back unless there are limited options behind him.

Hopefully Fournette will be used like Jeremy Hill was in 2013, but I'm not holding my breath.

Chubb clearly put on the better performance last season *but* they are freshmen. Time will separate the wheat from the chaff.

At any rate, Hurd should be in this discussion somewhere. Yes, he had lower numbers *but* he also had to run behind our line which as bad as they were should honestly count for something. He didn't pick up a single yard that he didn't earn damn near all by himself.

But again, only time will tell and these guys have a long way to go in their careers before all is said and done.

You obviously don't know LSU & Miles well then....

Would it make you feel better if we said he sucks? Ok, he sucks and we will be lucky to have a running game at all.

Feel better?

Why don't you post their stats against teams both played rather then top 5 rushing games. Anyone could have ran on UL.

You should probably do some research before making a statement like this.

I dont watch a lot of UGA games, but some of my Dawg friends said several times that Gurley should have gotten more carries in _______ game in his career. Usually it was in a loss, and most of my Jawja friends are the unreasonable, Bammer-esque type, so that prob has something to do with it.

He is the permier ballcarrier, much moreso this coming year than he was last year because of the experience we had at RB with Kenny HIlliard and Magee. But Frank Wilson runs the hot hand, if someone has it going he rides them. Its not always a good thing because it does take carries from the main guy if someone else gets hot, but it saves everyone for a long season as well.

What sucks is the dick measuring contest....both are great backs

This argument will be settled when they hang up the cleats.

the argument of "who had the better career" will be. The argument right now of "who is the better running back" is pretty cut and dry.

People want us to say he was overhyped because their 5 star running back had better stats than our 5 star running back against almost totally different competition in different offenses with different coaches, OL, and QBs

not even that, people just want the majority (well, the vocal ones...there are obviously a high number of LSU posters on this site, so it's hard to tell how many are the looneys and how many are normal) of LSU fans to quit acting like he's the best back in the league right now. Because he's not.

He is. FR backs from SEC last year are like this:

Chubb

LF

Hurd

He's 3rd.

Chubb is? Since we can compare backs on different teams lets compare Fournette and Chubb to Samaje Perine.

Just looked at the stats, and you're right - in 2013, Hill had over twice as many attempts as the next highest RB. In the past 5 years (too lazy to look at more), LSU's leading rusher was more like 1.5x as many attempts than the second highest RB. Hopefully miles comes to his senses.

On a semi-related note, I looked at rushing attempts per game for the last 5 years for LSU and UGA. I never realized y'all run the ball so much...every year you rank in the top 20 in terms of attempts per game. Pretty much every year, y'all have 3 more attempts per game than us on average (we have typically ranked in the middle, around 60th or so). Almost like clockwork, 3 attempts/game behind y'all. Only outlier was 2010 when y'all had 8 more attempts per game than us...but I have erased that year from my memory so I don't remember why
