And whats the reason for him being ineligible

95% chance he's eligible. I'd like a some of the more knowledgeable Memphis guys to weigh in here but my understanding is that the issue isn't anything NCAA related, it's just that his handler is fricking retarded and set up a school for the express purpose of Skal playing basketball. The TN high school athletic governing body didn't allow it (shocker) and so he couldn't play TN high school basketball this year. But he's academically fine, apparently.

I think he'll be eligible. Skal is from Haiti and his 'guardian' here, Gerald Hamilton, has been trying to pimp him out since his freshman year of high school. Including multiple high schools and AAU teams. He basically went around telling coaches that a donation to his 'foundation' is the only way Skal would play for them, and that all contact had to go through Hamilton and not Skal.
Hamilton is a complete and total amateur in that regard, but unless they can make a direct connection between a donation to his foundation and Kentucky or improper contact with an agent, he should be in the clear.
Great player, great kid, shady and sloppy 'guardian'.

10%
Because he made up a whole high school. This isn't a few shady documents, it's a whole fake damn high school.

Idk if it's that low. He probably sits 10 games max.

That guy is a piece of shite. He's not in it for Skal, he's only use for Skal is how much money Skal can make him.
As an aside, he does go to the same high school as Marc Gasol, so if he makes it big in the NBA, and he just might, they'll have a couple feathers in their caps for that. He just doesn't play basketball for them.
This is an interesting article from a few months back from Gary Parrish.

The made up high school was after the fact. The TSSAA ruled him ineligible to play basketball his senior year at Lausanne, because he had practiced the prior Spring with ECS, his first high school.
He graduated from a Lausanne, which is a real school, but his guardian tried to set up a fake school to allow him to play his senior year

Everything we've heard as of late is he'll sit a handful of games. But I don't think anyone really knows. I will say he seems pretty confident he'll be eligible and I'd imagine if he wasn't he would've just went ahead and went overseas.

Kid from Haiti who can flat out play some basketball, but has Satan for a guardian and shops the kid around to attempt to get money for himself. When he can't get what he wants, he takes the kid and goes somewhere else. Apparently, Cal paid up. (just kidding about the Cal part).

He's playing this year the only question is how much. The NCAA knows that Kentucky is a March cash cow no way they make him sit the whole year.
