Because it takes talent out of the game that it could keep. Teams can bring in new talent, but that still doesn't change the fact that talent has left the game earlier than it could

This. You never get to see star players develop as a college player.
Oh your team has a really good player that played really well this year as a freshman? You want to see him next year? Too bad he's gone.
I just don't get the point of making them go to college at all. Make them go for 3 or don't make them go at all.
