Congrats to one of the best schools in Hamilton county [sic] for hiring a teacher with no concept of spelling or capitalization, I guess.

Can someone explain why they like Chattanooga so much? Have been up there for work, but never thought much about it. I really am asking. The bright spot for me was it signified I was about half way to Nashville.

It is a large city with a lot to do. And with both the mountains and water, there is so much to do. I like to hike and kayak. Plus all the small swimming holes.
Just compare Auburn to Catalogs and see why I'm excited

I can see outdoors stuff being a big draw, but it is far from a large city. Nashville isn't even a large city.
I will give this advice, go to another city if you are having to use a hospital. Nash or atl are worth the drive. Trust me.
Good luck!

Lots of outdoors stuff to do. A vibrant downtown area with some unique things (UTC, Aquarium, Chattanooga Choo Choo, Lookouts, etc, etc). High speed fiber network has been installed by the city.
We go there at least once or twice a year. We love it.

I'd rather be in Knoxville but Chatty town ain't bad. North GA mountains are close by, Smokies are close enough, and white water rafting is not too far away.

It's like 2.5 hours from nooga to atlanta. I would certainly hope if someone is requiring a hospital visit they would seek the closest one and not drive over 2 hours just to get to a bigger city.

The great thing about Chattanooga, relatively cheap historic homes can be had. I spent a lot of time there revamping fireplaces for what I'd term the "hipster" 30 something crowd that bought old homes in rougher areas. It's a great market to get in right now, as I believe the infrastructure they are investing in will keep attracting this type of citizen.

I've driven it in around 1.5 hours. Really, you're looking at 2 hours max.

I was not referring to emergencies. Being treated for an illness allows for planning. I am just giving advice to seek treatment elsewhere.
