I want to say that he was drafted by the Steelers, maybe?

Drafted by the steelers, then ended up in Miami, then I think that was it. He went on to play baskebtall overseas somewhere IIRC. He actually played sparingly for us in teh offeseason as well.

Fred Gibson. Fred's an interesting story

Highly recruited...I believe he was a last minute flip from the Gators...we had to fork over a Tahoe (semi-new) and pretty damn nice for the early 2000's.

i think Jamarcus Russell gets looked over a lot because of the Raiders debacle. dude was a beast of a QB

Jamarcus gets overlooked a lot because only LSU and the Raiders think he was elite QB, even in college.
Dude was ok but never just awed you with his play. Mistake prone as well. Jones, Hodson, Wickersham were all more troublesome when playing LSU.

B.S. He handed the ball off to Herschel like a champ.

Zach Rogers.

Had he not played with Justin Hunter, Da'rick Rodgers, and Cordarrelle Patterson he would've gotten more attention and love. With his speed, solid route running, ability to get separation and make plays, he also likely would've been drafted even if it was in one of the lower rounds. But it's hard not to get overshadowed and underrated when playing beside the guys listed. Even at your pro day you're going to look mediocre compared to them despite being a very solid slot receiver and a good late round pickup.

What in the actual frick?

He went 232/342, 67.8%, 3129 yards, 28 TD, 8 INT, for a 167.0 rating in 2006.

Vandy's Jordan Matthews was too.

He was their entire offense. Take him away and there's no magical back to back bowl games for them. Despite, collecting national and SEC awards he never got the love he should've as the media was so focused on James Franklin. However, without Jordan Matthews I don't think those dream seasons happen.

Glad the pros showed him the love he deserved by taking him in the 2nd round.

Aaron Murray had stats like that, but with more TDs four years in a row. Jamarcus is overrated. Or is it a potential thing that I don't understand?

Dude

Jamarcus routinely did things in games that were not human. It was ridiculous. He'd put 40 yard passes on a rope off his back foot while getting sacked.

He was insanely efficient at LSU, responsible with the ball, and was very productive.

Todd McShay still says he had clearly the best pro-day he's ever seen and its not close.

Had Jamarcus gone to a team that had its shite together, he would have been a very good pro QB. If he had a Parcells, Bellichick, Harbaugh, etc. coaching him, he would have been great.

Best arm talent in the history of football. People think he just had freak arm strength, but he was actually VERY accurate in college, especially on mid-range and long passes.

Andre Woodson is a good one. Always loved how well he spun the ball at UK.

Chris Leak was criminally underrated by his own fanbase too. He also threw a beautiful ball.

I hate that his sexuality became all that anyone wanted to talk about in regards to him. He was a damned good football player, and was the heart and soul of that 2013 Mizzou defense.
