You say that in jest yet only Vandy and potentially UF appear to be as good as advertised. I'd argue that SC, UGA, and Vol fans had hoped for more at this point in the season.

Oh, no. I say that in complete seriousness.
That is the standard in this conference since we joined.
Football got "worse" since we joined.
Basketball got "better" since we joined.
Baseball got "worse" since we joined.
Track....who cares.....
If the Flag is waving in Mizzou or Texas A&M's direction put some "poo poo" on it
Biggest culprits are Arkansas and South Carolina fans. I let others find the correlation.

Our champ lost to Indiana, 2nd place couldn't beat a rival to save their lives, everyone else was 7-6 or worse.

This year it was supposed to be UK and UF. UF flopped and Arky was ranked most of the year. Still a crappy basketball conference, but on the upward swing.

Ole Miss made it to Omaha for the 1st time in a few decades so I'm just going to assume the rest of us must have been worse off.

What about 2013?

You Mizzou fans are too timid, Yall have a good squad this year! Congrats
Thanks. I like to think of it as realistic. The last 2 seasons have made it difficult to believe this team could turn it around as much as they have. Having said that, most Mizzou fans are baseball fans (albeit at the pro level) and understand it's a long season. Mizzou could finish really strong with 3 of the remaining 5 conference series being winnable (@UT/OM/UK versus @Vandy/@LSU) or the team could fall flat and lose each of those series. Either way, it's been a fun ride.

Exactly. Forget the fact that SC was #6 at the time we beat them. UF was #4 when we beat them. Of course their gonna drop when we beat them. In other words, you're spot on. Mizzou wins = East is down.

Vandy had 9 wins... the same amount as UT and UF had combined that year.

So UT and UF sucked that year and Mizzou,South Carolina and Vanderbilt were good and carried the East.
In fact, it was only the third time the East had two top 5 teams but you would rather put some "poo poo" on it than be proud because "frick Mizzou"
You, South Carolina and Arkansas, fans are bizarre when it comes to your insecurity towards us newcomers.

No, I'm saying that unless the traditional powerhouses are the ones scoring all the wins, then the division / conference is down. That is the logic of things here, I don't pretend to understand it. I just accept it and watch women's basketball now.

Unless the other teams in the division are as good as the traditional powerhouses are in their good years...Then it would appear the strength of the division is unchanged.

So it would appear, but I've long since abandoned trying to challenge the status quo thinking of the fans here.

Still a long way for the season to play out, but clearly it is the underclassmen that are carrying Mizzou. Shutting down Florida was big this past weekend.

Now that it looks like they might not suck arse, folks getting interested?
Think there is a word for that....

Hey we didn't when the national championship in wrestling but I have no complaints it was a great year and we added our name to the duel team champ list!

Everyone calm down....Mizzou baseball standard of "for real" is making the SEC tournament. Which very well may happen. But we are nowhere near good enough to make any real splash.
Mizzou Baseball might be below womens Volleyball and Wrestling for sports attended/cared about.
We are about the Royals and Cardinals now.

So you are having an amazing season and they still may fire a coach that has done nothing in his 20 years. But now his seat is warm?
Oh, and I am wondering what is up with attendance. Everyone always said it was because the team sucks. Now they are winning and it was a nice weekend in CoMo to go to the ballpark. I would know, I was there. Still zero attendance. Must make the boys feel good

Support has always waxed and waned, just like for football or basketball or any other sport. Win and they'll show up. Lose and you'll have more empty seats. The die hards will always be there.

Think there is a word for that....
Don't care what the word is. What is hopeful is that the new administration (Chancellor Loftin and AD Rhoades) seem to recognize the importance and role of a solid baseball program. It still falls in line behind football and basketball, but past administrations just let the program languish. Facilities sucked. Promoting it was non-existent. Of course no one was going to follow it in that case.

We'll make the SEC tourney. Right now we're projected to make the NCAA tourney too.

Meh. It was amazing. I watched all 3 Mizzou games and the Cardinal game this weekend. Didn't miss a pitch. Was even able to watch my cousin swing a club a few times.
