No big feat this year.

For Mizzou it is. Go look at what we've done since 2010, much less the first 2 years in the SEC.

You have a point and you would know. Whenever people say the Indians, Reds, Browns, or Bengals might be for real everyone thinks the same thing.

So you are having an amazing season and they still may fire a coach that has done nothing in his 20 years. But now his seat is warm?

I wouldn't call it an amazing season. It has been an improved season.

Will he be fired? Completely up in the air. Contrary to your troll attempt, he has had some success, mainly riding the arms of Max Scherzer and Aaron Crow, but he hasn't done squat since 2010. The first 2 years in the SEC were atrocious so he didn't get an extension last year. Most thought he was gone after this season and Mizzou would hire Vitello down there in Arky. The job he's done this year may actually have cooled his seat, not warmed it. Don't know what they do now.

Oh, and I am wondering what is up with attendance. Everyone always said it was because the team sucks. Now they are winning and it was a nice weekend in CoMo to go to the ballpark. I would know, I was there. Still zero attendance. Must make the boys feel good

We could probably go on for another 10 pages about this. There isn't any one answer to the question. A number of factors go into it. Suffice it to say, I think (hope) Loftin and Rhoades are going to seek to change that. They've at least made statements to that effect.

Loftin will help get you a new stadium. I think Mizzou should do something small and simple like Horner (DBU's new stadium) but add in a little more seating (20 rows vs 12 or 13) and add a few frills.

CWS appearences? Regional hosts? Super regionals? Regional appearences?

I honestly dont know. Not sure how you see a "successful" season.

Also, I'm not sure how you see new administrators changing the culture. Any rumors or rumblings?

No question about it. And for us baseball fans both the new chancellor Loftin and the new AD Rhoades have both made comments about needing a new stadium.

Meh, we're not LSU or SC. While we do have a national championship, that was quite some time before TJ took over. TJ went to like 7 straight regionals with maybe just 1 super regional in that time. Maybe a half dozen top 25 finishes to the season in that span. We've had only 3 coaches over the last 75 years or so and TJ has been the worst of the 3.

In the last week they have made strong statements about importance of baseball, particularly in the SEC. Loftin made facility improvements at A&M. Rhoades hired a new coach (not sure about facilities) at Houston (who I believe is a top 20 team now). So they've both come from a background where they provide the program what is needed to succeed instead of just ignoring the program. Good things if you're a Mizzou baseball fan.

Don't disagree, especially if the 20 rows takes you to about a 5,000 capacity. The current stadium holds just over 3,000 and believe it or not, on rare occasions, it does fill up, but not often. I think if they're going to make a commitment to baseball, you build it to hold 5,000 with room to grow if needed, even though we only average about 1,000 currently. If you're going to give the baseball program a push, you don't do it with the expectation that things will stay the same. Give it some room to grow.

Having a good Missouri baseball team is good for the SEC and I just hope that the fandom of your team will grow in Missouri. The more fans the better for all of NCAA baseball

We aren't getting a new stadium anytime soon. We just spent a few million on the current one.

Unless the other teams in the division are as good as the traditional powerhouses are in their good years...Then it would appear the strength of the division is unchanged.

I don't think anyone from USC is arguing with you on that, particularly in regards to the 2013 season. Both Mizzou and USC were damn good that year - and the final polls reflected that. But the traditionalists on this board argue that USC/Mizzou carrying the East = East sucks. Some of the ire that Mizzou fans have about this is directed towards USC fans, but we've been ridiculed much the same.

As far as USC baseball this year, Carolina is absolutely garbage. Yes, you won 2 of 3 - and congratulations on that. Still doesn't change the fact that USC hasn't won a series since.

I've been impressed with Mizzou's ability to come into the conference and compete from (almost) day one. Y'all had a helluva lot more going for you when you joined up than we did, and you've made the most of it. I don't hate y'all for that. I've been impressed.

I didn't say soon. But would not be surprised that IF IF IF they fire TJ, part of their sales pitch to a new HC is building a new stadium. That means it's probably 5 years down the line at the earliest, which I'm fine with as long as steps are being taken. And they didn't sink that much into the current stadium.

It is possible that they give the current stadium a completely new face as well, but I don't think so. I think the master plan is to put a new baseball field up next to the new softball stadium. That would mean taking down Hearnes, which Loftin and Rhoades coincidentally have talked about as well and whether it really serves Mizzou's needs. Tear it down, built a new baseball stadium in it's place. Build a smaller more feasible arena for wrestling/volleyball/etc.

He's been pretty tough so far. I still hold my breath whenever he's in though. I think he's very very good but not as good as some of the commentators have made him out to be.

BTW - Glad to see a Missouri kid tearing it up on the mound for LSU.

20 rows isn't enough then. I was thinking Mizzou was averaging ~500. If you can pack a 3,000 seat stadium on occasion then I can agree with 5K. Maybe 3,500 or so with a lot of SRO. How about a grass berm with a white stone M in it?
