USC scared them into giving Sumlin the raise. A&M fans know he's not worth it, but it's better than another coaching search.

Having a bidding war with USC that year was bad timing but the premium to overpay was worth it from a recruiting and fan support perspective.

He sure is worth it. He gave us our best season since 1956 and he only makes five million a year. The neighbors (Texas) pay their coach five million a year just to get to a bowl game. In our neighborhood we are getting a deal.

Heck that is quite frankly why we are poaching coaches from across the border. shite in that Louisiana neighborhood sometimes has Chinatown prices on it.
