The idea that Auburn people only complained about Lowder because the school was in shambles is more Bammer revisionist bs. Some Auburn people complained about Lowder for years even when Auburn was ranked much higher academically than what bama was ranked

But Alabama people haven't complained about PBJr.

I understand that Auburn people complained about Lowder (who btw did an awful lot of good things for AU), but no one at UA has ever complained about PBJr and honestly I don't see a reason to complain about him or the BOT for that matter.

Why belly ache, complain, and raise hell when things are running smoothly? Academics and enrollment are on the rise - athletics are competitive, even elite in some sports - facilities are top notch and the one's that aren't are currently experiencing renovations - student housing has seen unpresidented growth - overall campus life including the Greek organzations are seeing monumental growth and restructuring. What is there for anyone at UA to complain about?

They have been allowed to do it so long, by politicians and by media too scared, too cheap, or too homer to challenge it.

It is about a system that is insidious and incestuous, a tradition of unlimited power that trades unfairly on Alabama loyalty.

In the Houndstooth Family, the will of a powerful few becomes the mandate for all. And you can take that - and all the public money that goes into it - to the bank. As long as you know which one.

I understand that and agree completely from Alabama's point of view.

Look, things are never as simple as everyone would like it to be. Under Bryant jr. Alabama has flourished. He has done a tremendous job with UA. However, I think UAB is justified in saying he has not been nearly as supportive to the campus. The issue is, the board is supposed to treat all universities under its stewardship equally.

If Bryant Jr. had supported UAB athletics, I tend to think it would have been moderately successful. Cannot say for sure because it is only hypothetical.

But more to the point is a specific issue. If at UA, the alumni society leadership had unanimously called on the President to resign, the student body voted no confidence and the faculty voted no confidence, if documents came out showing the President had lied to stakeholders, and the largest media outlet in the state also called him to step down, would he still have a job?
