Yeah, played summer leagues, high school, and EYBL. If you think a kid isn't a good ball handler because they keep an eye on the ball when dribbling in traffic, then you clearly have never played a single minute of organized basketball. Go watch the highlights and tell me he can't handle the ball well.

You are one of dumbest posters on here, and that is saying a lot.

Because I think a guy is overrated? I think Simmons will be good but don't think he'll be the best player or freshman in the country next year. He'll be a less successful Wiggins in college and probably develop better in the NBA.
You're one of the toughest guys on here. :)

You can't even compare Wiggins and Simmons. Wiggins is a freak athlete but had very little refinement to his game. Ben is a great athlete, not on Wiggins level, but is about as developed and refined as an 18 year old kid can get. His mix of athleticism, length, skill, vision, and overall feel for the game is extremely rare. I respect your opinion, but I just find it hard to believe that someone can look at Ben's measurables and résumé and not think he'll be one of the best players in college basketball next year.
To get the thread back on track, Randy Rosetta interviewed Malik and his coach Dave Sanders. Malik definitely seems to like the idea playing with Ben and Antonio.

PSA: this thread is about Malik Newman. Go talk about Simmons and Blakney on the Tiger rant

This article has me feeling better
LINK
If he wants to keep winning with a supporting cast that doesn't
Make him play point the entire time then LSU is no doubt the obvious choice. No offense to State, but you're a few years away and he wants to win now.
Nm bob beat me to it.
Ftr Rossetta is NOT an LSU fan. He made that abundantly clear a few years ago when scout hired him.

Hearing from multiple areas that Malik to MSU is all but done

Lol dude trying to pump some sunshine back into the Lsu fans after all the Miss State momentum. All of those comments about Lsu are old. Tomorrow we will get Malik's thoughts on Howlands visit. Should be interesting.

You sound skurred as frick.

I'm actually more confident than evaaar just seeing that article will make the tears even sweeter. I remember seeing the same type shite spewed right before NSD with Leo and Jamal.

Just more ammunition and why I started this now platinum thread.

In not gonna post anymore in this thread, but Klong cool your damn jets. He is about to spend almost an entire month playing with LSU signees. I highly doubt you will congratulate LSu should he choose us. If that happens, your "platinum thread" will bite you hard in the arse.

I will congratulate you if you indeed land him. I'll have no shame in doing so. And yes I agree, that could be a big factor if he gets quality time with possible future players, on and off the court.

I'll be legit happy for y'all if Howland lands Malik. Id much rather have MSU get him then Kentucky or Kansas. The more good SEC teams the better. I'm tired of our conference being constantly shite on by the media.

The kids father played at State, he lives in Ms, and he grew up going to the games. I don't see why people are so baffled by the thought of him actually attending said school.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if he went to MSU, and got the star billing.
But, if he went to LSU, even with Ben Simmons and Antonio Blakeney, the tv spotlights, and NBA eyes, etc, provides a better stage to show your chops..maybe even more so due to not needing be the #1 star as a true Frosh? Aka the way Ky's diaper dandies oft split the workload in finding their way game-to-game before true collegian consistency settles in.
Allows him to be more versatile in his game, in finding his way immediately at the collegiate level?

If he wants the true spotlight, he'll go to UK. If he wants to stay close to home and play for his state, he'll pick Msu.

This plus people don't realize his loyalty. Newman had the opportunity to go play at a prep school out of the state. He choose to stay at a public school in Jackson. Experts say he lost the no. 1 recruit in the country billing because he choose to stay at Callaway.
