Ouch. I like it.

That so many others read this and automotically seek to discredit it is another sad fact. These days even the men are so damned emotional.

I wouldn't be so bold as to say "all" of mankind's ills. Might go so far as to say "most". "Very many" is a safe bet.

Yeah, until the idea that growth is not a desirable goal is common and until religion relaxes its hold on humanity's genitals we can expect the continued degradation of the only home that sustains us. Presently, we are like a virus that has no treatment. One that can only burn itself out.

The reason I said all is because we are a sentient species. With a much smaller population we could address ills that our now-burgeoning population prevent us doing simply because of scale. Diseases, birth defects, treatment of mental illnesses and the like proliferate because there is simply no way of getting help for every case.
