I think its the point. To sort of turn football back into football, and not a track meet.

an offensive linemen doesn't need to be 3 yards down field on a pass play.

It's a good change.

Yup, especially when so many rules favor the offense. This is a step in the right direction to keep the scores from getting out of hand

Gus will always run a track meet. he'll evolve. The NFL works just fine with the 1 yard rule.

It's a good first step. They still need to strictly enforce holding calls and get rid of the bullshite targeting rule for scores to truly return to normal.
