whomever follows Saban is doomed to comparison. Bama will go through 1-2 coaches before settling into another long termer.
Dabo would be good for one of those short term coaches. He definitely is not the long term answer.

Bring Dabo in. Let him recruit well. Watch him fail to live up too unreal expectations. Fire him. Next coach has stocked talent. Watch him win 3 titles in 6 years. Profit.

Agree, 3 years or a title and he is done.
Dan Mullen will step in for him

I think if he wins a title he will go out on top. If not I think 2017 will be his last year.
We're on the same page.

Doesn't matter really. The rest of the conference has to deal with him for however long he stays. I think that time frame is three years, tops.

I see one of two models:
1. The Bryant: coaches until he starts to slip; hangs it up after a couple of sub-par years. Probably 5-7 more years.
2. The Bowden/Paterno: hangs around long after he starts to lose it because firing him is unthinkable. He could hang around for 10-15 more years.
I think #1 is much more likely. I do not see him going anywhere after Bama.
If Bama has learned their lesson from the post-Bear era, he will be replaced by the best coach $$$ can buy. Otherwise, he will be followed by a series of mediocrities who will last 3-4 years apiece.

Absolutely. No way does he hang around if the program starts to slip.
