Travis Haney (a former beat writer for SC) and a few fellow coaches ranked the head coaching jobs for the 65 Power 5 schools. These kinds of list are released seemingly every year but I figured maybe ya'll would be interested anyway.

I didn't bother providing a link because the article is for ESPN insiders. If you're an Insider then just go to the NCAAF homepage.

Top 24

1. Texas
2. Alabama
3. USC
4. Ohio State
5. Florida
6. LSU
7. FSU
8. Georgia
9. Oklahoma
10. Notre Dame
11. (tie) A&M
11. (tie) Oregon
13. Auburn
14. Michigan
15. Tennessee
16. Clemson
17. (tie) UCLA
17. (tie) Penn State
19. South Carolina
20. Michigan State
21. Nebraska
22. Arkansas
23. Miami
24. Wisconsin

The rest...

32. Ole Miss
34. (tie) Mississippi State
34. (tie) Missouri
45. Kentucky
59. Vanderbilt (tied with Indiana)

Do you agree or disagree?

Personally, I think this list is strangely accurate.

Notre Dame at 10 and no Michigan or Nebraska makes me know now how much prestige those schools have lost in 15-20 years.

I think texas was, but their administration and leadership is crap. A&M moving to SEC has taking some of the shine off of them. Fan base is very fair weather, and with all the money they DO have.. their facilities are severely lacking.

USC would be my number 1, followed by Bama, texas, and Florida.

I would drop down Oaklahoma and Notre Damn but overall it's pretty good.

Also Texas isn't 1 right now with the current Big 12, I would give that to Alabama.

Agree for the most part. I might rank South Carolina a little lower. I don't see how Vandy is ahead of anyone either. Vandy is a worse job than Auburn basketball.

Also, Texas is definitely not #1. You couldn't pay these coaches enough money to deal with that shite BOT.

I kinda disagree with Alabama being at #2, only because of crazy expectations that Saban will leave for his successor.

I would think any job in the south/west is a good job when compared to playing in the north

6. Auburn
7. Tennessee
8. Arkansas
9. South Carolina
10. Ole Miss
11. Missouri
12. Miss. State
13. Kentucky
14. Vanderbilt

I think after Saban leaves that Bama won't be as attractive of a job. He's just been too damn good, and the fan base won't accept anything less IMO. Of course they have the recognition and prestige, but I think the coach after Saban is going to really have his hands full trying to meet expectations.

A&M is not the 11th best coaching job in the country

Solid list IMO.

Auburn may be a little low maybe, not sure about Oklahoma being top 10 either. But these lists usually suck much worse

Texas has lost it's prestige in recent years. And the shitshow they exposed during their latest coaching search makes you wonder if they are even top 5 anymore.

The only one that doesnt belong to me. I dont even know if I have them in the top 20 anymore. It is all about ease in recruiting these days now that everyone is all in and on the national scene

Mississippi State and Ole Miss are interchangeable. Missouri is in there as well.

Oklahoma and ND are too high, Kentucky a little too low, and A&M should be in top 10.

I would go USC ahead of Texas. Better conference, sexier schedule, LA. As a Texas fan and student, it's always such a let down when I get my season tickets and I look at a home schedule filled with duds.

eta - Alabama over Texas as well. Tougher conference and sexier schedule makes the job more challenging and exciting.
