According to some other students there, her story doesn't really check out.
Yes the players should have acted differently, but she did not help the situation.

The people on social media trying to spread this were vicious and we never had the opportunity to hear the other side of the story.
Her husband on facebook was sharing the posts asking "Is this what the Auburn Family is all about?" and "I thought this was a family.. that's not family" type crap. Two individuals don't represent the whole and to me it's sad that people make such vast generalizations.
The two players fricked up, sure and they'll be punished accordingly. But you aren't helping the situation by ridiculing the entire community you live in by berating them online.

I agree that two players is not indicative of the whole team or family or anything. I also agree they should be punished accordingly. That's just dumb on their part. But I could also see where it's being spread around like that for sure.

The players are coming from the girl's facebook post. She says #79 & #95. She calls Russell his "hype man". If you actually read her post, she definitely seems off.

fwiw those are the two names being thrown around

quote:So apparently they aren't letting this be posted on AUF E it's all over the internet coming from students, the victim (despite it not being in the AL dot come article) and others. There's no question of which players are responsible.
Also will you please start sourcing where you get stuff? Considering the nature of the situation it is extremely poor taste to just throw 2 names out there with nothing to back it up. If AW & DR are not the 2 culprits then your post would definitely be defamatory and as fans we don't need to be acting like that.

Gonna go ahead and state what I have heard, supposedly this chick went ballistic on them for trying to pet her dog without even giving a warning. I saw somewhere it was posted that she is a disabled veteran with PTSD. Well yeah she served a short term in the Air Force but had no combat experience and her PTSD stems from a sexual assault. Just do not like how some people felt the need to rush to judgement on these guys.

Why are you all arguing in the SECr? Unless someone does come out and say they saw differently, then leave it as is and move on.

There's no way to make a judgement on this story unless we hear both sides.
I have a feeling the woman involved is dramatizing what the players did or didn't tell the whole story of what she did.
Both parties probably didn't handle the situation as they should.

@wareagleextra: I've seen a lot of people compare the alleged incident with the Auburn football players Tuesday with Jameis Winston's cafeteria fiasco (1/3)
quote:
@wareagleextra: But that comparison doesn't square with me for one reason: people immediately took to social media to talk about it. That didn't happen here
quote:
@wareagleextra: And that's what doesn't make any sense -- if it happened in front of "dozens of people," why haven't any other eyewitness accounts surfaced?
quote:
@wareagleextra: If you've seen them, please send me in the right direction. I've scoured Twitter and haven't seen anything.

To be honest, I would rather the guys have to face a week of criticism and some extra workouts than the PTSD girl being wrung through the wringer.
If she overreacted, fine. The football players and our program will survive. A PTSD victim being emotionally distraught even more does no one any good.
ETA: the opinions voiced in this post are of my own.

The whole thing with the husband sharing this all over social media seems weird to me. If your wife has social anxiety, ptsd, panic attacks ect.. why would you and her be blasting this on facebook? They seem like they're working an angle here
