Did Marshall throw with the QB group today?
Yes. Nothing impressive happened. The difference between Marshall and someone like Winston is dramatic.

Gabe Wright put up 34 reps on the bench, tied for second most among DL.
Angelo Blackson put up 20 reps.

The hidden story of this Combine is Georgia Tech developing yet another freakishly large/athletic receiver coming out of their offense that barely ever passes the ball. Darren Waller measured 6'6 238 and ran a 4.46 forty while jumping 37". Every year they put out some complete freak, and the majority of these guys were under-recruited 3* kids from Georgia. I'm surprised that the bigger SEC teams aren't starting to shadow their recruitment; because a lot of these kids could have potentially developed into real top players in more pass-oriented offenses.

I don't know Sammie's family financial situation, but I said it before and I will say it again.........it was a bad move for him to leave early. He should have stayed and worked on his pass catching abilities. It is no secret that his hands are Like Roberto Duran's.
Sammie wasn't going to improve his pass catching at Auburn by staying. He had a good year and made the right move leaving for the draft. He will get better coaching in the NFL and can make improvements making a great paycheck.

I would bet money that Gabe Wright gets drafted by a team like Tampa or Dallas. He ends up going to a place that emphasizes shooting the gap and penetration from their 3tech DT not run stuffing.
A lot of it is that they look for big athletic guys who can block on the perimeter. What would be a raw "project player" for everyone else is perfect for them. Pass catching issues that would be a red flag for others get ignored
Don't forget they have Smelter from GTech who probably would have been 1-2nd RD type guy if it weren't for his knee injury.

5.09 first run for Wright.

What did he run? Nfl network was too busy sucking off Leonard Williams then cut to a commercial.
Edit: thanks, that's a nice time for his size I assume.

Anyone have a good QB breakdown from the combine? I'd like to read an expert opinion on how Marshall did yesterday.

Yall forget, he has graduated. He's done his time at Auburn. Has his rings. Go make that money. Even as a 2nd or 3rd round pick, he'll do fine and will learn.
The upside is he'll probably go to a good team. hell, he could wind up catching passes from Tom Brady or Peyton.

Only one of those QBs could utilize what Coates brings to the table.

Peyton Manning's arm isn't strong enough to utilize Sammie Coates' deep ball strengths. I doubt they will draft a wide receiver that high anyways.
