Good.

The more our kids avoid liberal indoctrination in public schools by studying revisionist history, the better.

Kids who take AP classes are, generally, intelligent enough to do research and form their own opinions.

If Oklahoma bans Nowledge, I'm pretty sure the nubs will never play them again. After all that's what the N on the bug eater helmet stands for.

So now we're not only slowing down our more intelligent kids, but we're taking away classes that they voluntarily enter because they want to challenge themselves? frick Oklahoma and frick the people that support this trash.

I read a while back that ISIS had banned the study of philosophy and chemistry in the schools they control. Said they weren't Islamic.

Pretty bizarre, huh?

So we've got Jokelahoma barring more rigorous high school history classes because they clash with their values. This sounds like something you might read on The Onion.

Naturally they vote to ban AP courses--how many children in the wasteland of Oklahoma could actually pass an AP course?

I'd wager that up to 97% of all public school children in Oklahoma couldn't locate the state on a U.S. map.

It really does. People make fun of Mississippi for having stupid ideas proposed to change it's educational system but none of it never actually passes, most of the time anyway.

Most of them just overload HS kids with more work and less enjoyment of being a kid. The college credit is a loss for many kids who don't take the time to see if the credits will transfer to whatever university they choose.

If a kid is bored in HS, they need to put in the work and graduate early and go to college. It is just taking resources away from kids that could use the extra attention and teaching.

Not to mention, taking AP classes doesn't create any "advancement" of education. I went to engineering school with many kids who took AP calculus in high school and it didn't prepare them for the higher level calc classes, physics and engineering classes at all. Those are typically classes better off taught where you are going to go to college so that you know you get everything you need at a level you need it.

It shouldn't be the governments job to challenge a bored child, that is the job of the parents. Government shouldn't be responsible for anything more than the bare minimum.

I was never overloaded and I happily am sitting at sophomore status at UGA after one semester. I had an edge coming in against my friends who didn't take AP classes. Like I can tell when we are doing work together who was an AP student and who wasn't.

In the 11th grade I took AP Art History, AP chemistry, AP Chemistry lab, AP Calculus, AP English Lit (teacher was hot as balls by the way lol), still found time to work at Mc Donalds and I played high school basketball and started.

Still found time to go to high school football games,, lost my virginity in the 11th grade so there's that

Though I NEVER had free time.. you never just caught me on a tuesday at 6pm with nothing to do

The irony being that chemistry was founded by a muslim

Seriously - 120 hours a week of school, sports, and work - and the man makes time to lose his virginity in 11th grade.

The irony here being is that the GOP are basically, creating democrats. People who take AP classes go to college, make their own money, pay their taxes. By getting rid of all AP classes you create a workforce who is not prepared for the world in the global economy then you scream for handouts.
