Because if great players were slam dunk coaches, a lot of coaches would be ex great players.
That aside, I think Hines is a unique personality and could well succeed as a coach. I'd love to see him in Athens as a WR coach. I just don't see him taking a pay cut to work those hours when he has the resume to start in the pros where they make more money and don't recruit.

Heppilfigger is a lot like Ball. Not a great recruiter.

This really didn't make sense, except for the obligatory Bama connection.

Never once did I imply or state Hines or any other HOF'er would be a "slam dunk" coach.
There are also alot of medicore coaches that were medicore players and some that never played in the league and were mediocre to great coaches.
In general I would assume many choose not to go into coaching or were at a disadvantage to many who choose it as a career path after college or a couple of years in the league.
Just depends on the individual...which I've stated all along.

Looks like McClendon to WR Coach and Thomas Brown to RB Coach per that Football Scoop guy

RT@CoachSamz: source, UGA plans to move RB coach Bryan McClendon to WRs and will hire Wisconsin RB coach Thomas Brown

Why move Bryan with the runningback success we've had lately?
Posted on 2/16/15 at 11:31 am to dawg4lyfe
Well it's not like Wisconsin hasn't been hugely successful at running either; Brown just got done coaching this guy into the NFL:

I would think that it would be a promotion to be moved from rb to wr coach.

It may be true, but i don't understand moving McLendon unless it is what he wanted.

That is what I was thinking when it was brought up a few days ago- only move BMac if it is a move he is eager to make (hopefully that is the case here)
