I've never hidden my bias towards cops. They have entirely too much power, and are given way too much leeway in these scenarios. Not to mention a lenghty history of covering up their misdeeds in their internal investigations.
You sound like a typical sheeple of the media who only highlights the handful of bad incidents that occur with police officers when we can look at far more that have had positive results.

So if I walk up to someone in a bar and punch him square in the face, do I deserve to be shot dead in retaliation? I just intentionally tried to injure, right?
A others have stated the law says that if the person you just punched in the face feels his life is threatened, then yes he has the right to shoot you. If you don't like that, don't walk up to someone and punch them in the face.

It is amazing how people can't understand this simple fact.

Uh yeah. If someone's well being is at stake, what else matters?
You really don't see the danger in leaving up to individual interpretation?

Well Henry, I don't view that as a life threatening situation. But maybe these cops were just a bunch of pussies.
My opinion is that it wasn't done out of fear for their safety at all. Cops can get caught up in the pursuit and maybe get angry about some punk causing trouble. They "just can't let him get away with it" - and take the easy option of using firearms "to stop him" when it wasn't necessary for personal safety...

The problem is people aren't looking at a rock as a deadly weapon even though much less can kill someone.

Well he did resist non-lethal force (taser) in order to continue to try to injure the officers.

Walk down an alley, someone punches you in the face and starts kicking you. What do you do? Yell and hope someone hears you? Or do you get out a gun if you have one and shoot your attacker? Oh no that would be too much according to you.
Don't punch someone if you don't want to deal with the repercussions. Some might feel their life is threatened. Who are you to say that they didn't feel their life was in danger if someone randomly comes up and assaults them?

That's all one has in any situation. It's why common sense and logic has to come into play. Because laws are in place and oversight is used to determine each incident as being justified or not.

Which is fine. It's your opinion. But these cops may have felt differently because they were actually in the situation. It's easy to say it's not that scary of a situation when you're not the person experiencing it first hand.

Sheeple. Did you come up with that one yourself? Do you always make such broad assumptions about people?

Well that's very pot meet kettle considering the conclusions you've drawn from the OP.

guess you missed the vid of the guy in Oklahoma a few weeks ago.. running and pulling a weapon.. dropping it, stopping to pick it back up and point as he continued to flee..
Yea thats what happened. He ran away, dropped his cell phone, picked it back up. Never pointed it...because its a cellphone...turned to run away and cop in the split second thought it was the weapon they later found on his waist. The end result may have been the same but there is no need to lie about the facts.

bullshite. That is often times left up to a jury, and many times the person's claim of self defense doesn't hold up and the person is convicted.

Why invoke a jury when you can just have cops play the judge, jury, and executioner right on the spot?

So, it's ok for cops to kill simply because they can? I didn't see any officer threatened with deadly force in that video.

Indeed it is. Everyone in this thread has drawn their own conclusions from the available info. Some of us aren't on a high horse about not making assumptions though.

video clearly showed it was a pistol. Witnesses from the church confirmed the guy was a lethal threat as well.
