RT @AlbertCesare: Auburn approves 13.9 million for scoreboard at board of trustees meeting

I always thought Auburn's scoreboard was pretty nice.
Don't they have roughly 78 or so other, much more pressing issues to deal with? Non-box TVs in the concourse, more suits, elevators that work, a clock that works, spruce up the outside, build another deck, widen concourses, etc? All my Auburn family and friends complain about that stuff more than anyone.

I guess if you can't have an upper deck you can compensate with that

So you think your deck is bigger than our's?

Most AU fans aren't interested in increasing seating capacity. Would rather have upgrades to existing stadium.

Agreed, however the sound system has needed an upgrade for a while.

And, from what I have read about Texas' scoreboard, a large chunk of that massive space (20-30%) is going to be devoted to ads anyway.

I think you will see the new trend with stadiums be away from expansion and more towards increasing the GameDay experience. Things like bigger and more video boards/tvs, better concessions, nicer seating, interactive opportunities, etc. HDtv and the SEC network are making game attendance more optional and less appealing.

The elevators too.

Guessing you're an LSU fan and trolling, but everyone outside the AU fanbase I've ever spoken to agree it gets loud in JHS for its size and it's also a nice stadium.

But isn't Auburn's Gameday experience inside the stadium (amenities, concessions, bathrooms, concourses, etc) pretty terrible? Why not fix those first? Maybe that is in the works too.

Pretty much.

I don't really care what they do as long as they fire the guy that thinks Yung Joc is still good pump up music.

Don't need more seats if we can't sell them. They don't have box TVs anymore. The PA system is supposed to get fixed in the process of the scoreboard replacement. Hopefully our clock operator quits falling asleep.
