When is the last time anyone outside of Texas gave a shite about the Aggies in a Thanksgiving Day game?

No one ever, but that isn't the point Brer. Out of the 247 countries in the world Texas has more people than 199 of them. If we win the hearts and minds of Texans that is like owning our own country.

You've got to go all the way back to 1975 to find a game where both schools were in the top 10.

How long has it been since a conference title was on the line?

Brer, Brer, Brer. Don't fall into that trap. Don't measure it with the SEC ruler or it won't make sense.

The bottom line of Thanksgiving is they thought it was their tradition, and not our tradition. They thought that they could have full custody to the day (when TEXANS are looking for football) simply by rotating some private schools in because it was really all about them and never even a little bit about us. The fact that we can have a game that will get better rating than theirs (aka be more relevant), even though their game had a playoff contender in it this year, is worth tens of millions of dollars to us in pride and local exposure.

When Texans look for Thanksgiving football they have options, and the more that picks our option today the less 30 years from now the "We're Texas" mindset resonates in the hearts of both recruits and fans. 100 year decisions and all.

I hate to break it to your aghole-centric self, but The University of Texas played other teams on Thanksgiving before its first Turkey Day tilt versus A&M.

Nor, after first playing A&M on Thanksgiving, was A&M the sole Texas opponent on Thanksgiving Day (Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Baylor come to mind).

Get over yourself.

I fail to see how Aggy is winning the hearts and minds of Texans.

Baylor and TCU dominated the conversation this year.

I was in San Antonio for a week at Thanksgiving and had the pleasure of reading the local sports page. They were basically laughing at A&M's struggles in the SEC this year while making apologetics for the Longhorns' struggles. Granted, SA is much closer to Austin and home to a huge UT booster in Red McCombs so SA has always been Longhorn country.

It would be one thing if Aggy was up and the Horns were down and nobody else in Texas existed. But you've got Baylor and TCU running roughshod over the Big XII and getting all the national media attention. TCU even demolished an Ole Miss team that A&M lost to by 15.

Y'all have a long way to go to win anything in Texas.

I'm sure the game against UTSA in 2016 will do the trick. A home and home with TCU would be a lot better.
