This is one of the dumbest posts I've seen and that's saying something. So a guy who can't do better than 4th in his division with a Heisman QB is now a great manager? GTFO. I'm sure he's gonna get more out of chief than Les I mean he's so f'ing great. Sheesh I guess you would be happy leading games in the 4th and having Chief's D give up game winning drives.

As others have said, of course he will "recruit" his first year that he gets there. Let's see how much he does in year 2,3 and so on (if he's there that long). And just bc he's THERE doesn't mean he's doing much recruiting. His rep is well known for being an a**hole

Could be that he knows he HAS to do it, to succeed

That's funny, because I can't find it in a single thread at anytime before we stole him from you and left you crying

I really believe he will no longer be known as 3rd and Chavis at AnM.
With the players on the roster there and the lack of complexity to his schemes, I don't see teams making it to 3rd down all that often.
I think he will now be known as "1st and goal Chavis" for how often and how quickly other teams make it to the red-zone.

Why is he suddenly recruiting? Answers are welcome

I think people are misunderstanding the whole "Chavis doesn't recruit" thing. It's not that he doesn't get out of his house at all. The way he works is he lets the other assistants take care of the visits throughout the process then Chief shows up between Christmas and signing day. That's the way he operated at LSU for the most part.

Most coordinators aren't out on the road recruiting every week during the season, they're designing a gameplan for the next week. That's a position coach job on most staffs

No shite but Chief doesn't do shite in the Spring or Summer either. He's like an Indian Santa Clause.

No shite. Mostly based on the relationships created with Brick, Raymond, Wilson, etc. Look at how many guys have Kirby Smith listed as their recruiter on Rivals. You might see Chavis' name their once or twice in the past few years.
