Only in LSU fans minds does Les and your AD fly to Chavis's house in the middle of the night just to wish him well the night before he accepts A&Ms offer

What does this have to do with not overpaying?

perhaps he has changed and wants to recruit.
I'm just wonder in what made him change, I mean he started right after he got hired at A&M. Did Miles just not make him recruit?

Either you're poor or he didn't want to coach there. Let it go Max, all is well with Steele now

After a hefty pay raise and/or bonus most employees do a little extra to justify to management they are worth it. Unfortunately over time they become complacent and stagnant.
Enjoy the honeymoon phase!

I bet Chief ate the rest of that deer and asked for more.

DC didn't want to coach the #1 Defense in the SEC, a team that produces more NFL talent than any other team in the country.
Yes, certainly that was it.

So you are poor then?

Has he landed any commitments from these recruits that he is visiting all over texas?

He sucks at it so we tried to hide him from recruiting. But hey he is bringing in ULLLL type quality players for y'all.

Sumlin will be much quicker to throw Chavis under the bus that Miles.

This. Did you expect him to come in and sit on his fat arse year 1?
especially with that ridiculous salary
Or he real scared of Coach O

Let's see how long paying inflated prices for a mediocre commodity works for you.

He started watching game film on this past season....
Maybe it was the 59-0 loss to Bama where the defense gave up 600+ yds.
Or maybe the Miss. St. game where they gave up 48 points and 550+ yds.
Or the Auburn game where they gave up 38 points and 582 yards.
Or quite possibly the LSU game where Chavis witnessed 384 rushing yards.
If that doesn't motivate him to recruit, nothing will.

Is Sumlin working him harder than Les,
For what he is being paid in comparison to what LSU did I would hope so.

or is he just finally applying himself because he's at a university and with a staff that inspires him?
No one here knows that shite
