Why do poor black kids in other countries all have Cleft palates?

And why do I have to look at them during commercials? It's really gross.

I had the impression that India and SE Asian countries had more of a prevalence of cleft palates than African countries.

They won't have them long. I'm sure America will send an arse load of doctors over there to fix 'em up for free while we have ppl over here that are American citizens in desperate need of the same procedure but can't afford it.

My guess is improper nutrition before birth and after for that matter

Africa has the highest rate of population increase on earth. I'm sure that's why we see so many examples of this birth defect and others.

I did a paper & gave a presentation on birth defects in college. Many of them, including some types of cleft palates and hand/feet deformities were directly linked to the sperm donor (biological father) being a habitual drug user, surprisingly, marijuana being one of the identified drugs, particularly when used at conception. ... Point being, "poor black kids in other countries" aren't the only ones born with birth defects.
