Got swept by LSU. Not surprising but was really hoping to steal one.

Mizzou needs to win at least 2 against Kentucky or barring that win at least one against Kentucky and two in the SEC tournament.
I don't think Mizzou gets a NCAA tournament invite unless it has a winning SEC record.
Going into the Kentucky series with a SEC record of 14-13 leaves very little margin for error.

I think 1 vs UK and 1 in the tourney is enough. That would make it 16-16 overall in conference including the tourney. It would get us to 30 wins too, which, while not great, looks better than having an at large team with wins in the 20's, SEC or not.

What a heart breaker yesterday. They had it in thier hands. Young team.
They played LSU tough and is the number one team in the nation all weekend though, and thats a small moral victory.

Yeah, I had really hoped that they could pull that game out yesterday. Would have gone a long way.

I have followed this thread with interest from its beginning. First off, the analysis has been spot on. (2) I have been impressed with Mizzou's pitchers all year. Mizzou is the only SEC team not to mess with the starting rotations. That is very telling by itself. (3) Mizzou is a young team and at times it shows. It is the part I like most and find intriguing. The team has pulled out so many surprising wins against outstanding completion but(4) Mizzou losing so many mid-week games confuses me. Losing to Missouri State, I understand (really good team) but Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Arkansas-Little Rock, SEMO. I find this a little maddening. I don't know anything about those teams so are coaching missteps behind these losses? Or does this team play down to its competition level? With Kentucky coming to town, I am curious to see which team shows up.

By the way, did the Mizzou team enjoy playing in front of ten thousand plus fans down in Baton Rouge?

Baseball pissing it away. Lost 1-0 to UK tonight. Basically, winner of this series probably gets into the tourney. Lose this series and Mizzou probably has to do the impossible and win like 3 games in the SEC tourney.

The good news is that if we don't make the tourney, we'll likely see a coaching change as TJ is in his last year. Win/Win.

IMO, he's gone even if we make the tourney unless we make it out of the regional. From, what I've gathered, Loftin and Rhoades are not big endorsers of Jameison and with the epic slide he's been on recently, I think they'll start fresh and show him the door.

That being said, at this team right now. 6 losses in a row and lost 11 out of the last 13. Pretty epic collapse regardless of whether they can salvage the tourney or not.

It's amazing to think that just 3 weeks ago or so (Just before the Vandy series) we were in 1st place in the east. Now we may finish 4th in the east, 8th in the SEC and not make the tourney. Ridiculous.

A lot of questions will get answered for a lot of teams on the last day of regulation.

I think one just got answered for Mizzou. Thanks for everything you've done for the last 20 years TJ but it's time to move on as far as I'm concerned. In other words, lost the series to UK and we went from tied for 1st place in the East to not making the NCAA tourney in the course of 3 weeks. Un-freaking-believable. Thank god we have Rhoades. Alden would never have made a change.

Losing that last game to Kentucky hurt. No matter how you slice and dice this one, from here on out Mizzou has a steep, but not impossible climb to get into the NCAA tourney. Mizzou will have to beat South Carolina, and likely two more to get in. Mizzou could still lose to Vanderbilt, but still need two more wins. (double elimination past South Carolina).

They will not get past SC. This team is toast.

Pretty sad progression on the season. Tough schedule to end the year combined with a few too many mid-week losses seem to have sunk the team.
Let's see how the off season plays out.

Yepp. The midweek losses killed them.
At 29-26 overall. 15-15 in conference.
Had we won 2 of 3 against Milwaukee, beaten a sub .500 Corpus Christi team, beaten Pine Bluff and Little Rock, that would have made us 34-21 overall. I think we'd be in with the same conference record.
As for the conference games went, UK was the only series disappointment. Would have liked to have won 1 against Vandy and 1 against LSU but we were never going to win those series.
Just a shame they couldn't close it out against UK.

Mizzou is not toast (at least not yet). Big win against South Carolina. Now it is double elimination. You never know in a tournament. Mizzou may still surprise.
Congrats on Mizzou's first SEC tournament win.
